Alright, that's enough off-topic posts in this thread. Take it to NS if you need to.

I personally think a UAI of 100.00 would work against you more than with you. :)

What kind of an employer wants to see someone with a UAI of 100.00, in the real world they want people with people and communication skills rather than mathematics etc.

Most of the high achievers I've met are actually quite personable and don't fit that stereotype at all. You need a hell of a lot more than maths skills to get 100.

so youre automatically assuming that any one who gets 100 uai has no personal skills
thats stupid

personally if i were an employer id want someone with uai 100 and good personal skills, rather than some shitty mark and good personal skills

Not really, experiences and good impression quite often override your UAIs. You don't have to have a good UAI to be a well-rounded person that employers would chase after, but having a good UAI doesn't really mean employers would chase after you. :p
I think having good marks is important, but accumulating enough working and social experiences would be an even more important asset. But when you have finished university, it's a different story. You'd be seeking companies specialising in your area, and they'd understand what your achievements at uni might reflect. However, industry experience is still very very very important.

my experience:
first page of resume with softcore work experience was accepted
second page of resume with hardcore achievement was rejected

conclusion:
those recruiters are blind :D

There was one year in Ruse that some guy who got 100 did not do maths or science. :D so it is possible to get 100 without doing any maths/science but you'll have to cane very hard.

hmmm...mercury, you know you can quote more than once in a single post :)

yeah, uai really doesn't count for crap when ur looking for a job. highly sought after positions basically require a high standard of academic achievement - employers consider it a given. it is ur other achievements outside study, and your personal skills that distinguish you from the next person.

sometimes the factor of "how many connections u have" plays a major role in getting a good job for you.

Right attitude...

To be honest, i think u guys are all attributing too much to a uai. It is an index, nothing more. it's how well u can learn the bos syllabus...Think of it as a path to your desired uni degree.

Employers, ultimately care about what uni degree you have (which is where the uai comes in...) and ur personal skills and other experiences. So don't obsess over the numbers themselves. if you don't get 100 but still get into ur course, does it really make a difference???

Personal Skills > Uni degree > HSC Certificate > SC Certificate

That what you trying to say? :p
