Most of the high achievers I've met are actually quite personable and don't fit that stereotype at all. You need a hell of a lot more than maths skills to get 100.Originally posted by PRSOV
What kind of an employer wants to see someone with a UAI of 100.00, in the real world they want people with people and communication skills rather than mathematics etc.
Who wouldn't?Originally posted by worlds greatest
personally if i were an employer id want someone with uai 100 and good personal skills,

yeah, experience is whats important for employers, i don't even think they look at your uai, its just for the universtities to use, not for the employer.
ohhhhh......... BIG generalisation here.... pigsOriginally posted by pigs_can_fly
yeah, but most jr guys just look so screwed up...don't think they know how to cross the road!
There was one year in Ruse that some guy who got 100 did not do maths or science. so it is possible to get 100 without doing any maths/science but you'll have to cane very hard.Originally posted by Leanne
THANK YOU!! Someone without maths!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OR SCIENCE!!I have a (very very very small) chance of getting 100!!!! lol

sometimes the factor of "how many connections u have" plays a major role in getting a good job for you.Originally posted by pigs_can_fly
hmmm...mercury, you know you can quote more than once in a single post
yeah, uai really doesn't count for crap when ur looking for a job. highly sought after positions basically require a high standard of academic achievement - employers consider it a given. it is ur other achievements outside study, and your personal skills that distinguish you from the next person...
Right attitude...Originally posted by mercury
Not really, experiences and good impression quite often override your UAIs. You don't have to have a good UAI to be a well-rounded person that employers would chase after, but having a good UAI doesn't really mean employers would chase after you.
I think having good marks is important, but accumulating enough working and social experiences would be an even more important asset. But when you have finished university, it's a different story. You'd be seeking companies specialising in your area, and they'd understand what your achievements at uni might reflect. However, industry experience is still very very very important.
where does the "connections factor" come in?Originally posted by Ragerunner
Personal Skills > Uni degree > HSC Certificate > SC Certificate
That what you trying to say?
