I've been trying to memorise further reflections for a while ( |f(x)|, f(|x|), |y| = f(|x|) etc.) but they're so confusing and similar to each other, does anyone have any tips to memorise them?

Don't memorise them. (In my opinion) it is best to work them out methodically for example:
If we take the modulus of a function, then everything will be positive and will now move above the x-axis.
If we take the modulus of x, then we know that both sides of the y-axis will mirror each other, as essentially you are plotting the same numbers in.
Just keep practising and soon enough you will understand it and then you won't need to memorise :)
