Nah dude in 35+ degrees temperatures you could easily die in a day. 2 litres is what they say when you're in the city or whatever, but out in the bush I have drank 10 litres in a day hiking and still been thirsty.

The kid didn't know where he was, he could not have been located with a call from a phone. In populated areas where you can triangulate a mobile phone signal with surrounding phone towers, it would have been possible. In the Katoomba mountains? Not possible. Sorry.

And yet people are found all the time because they rang the 000 and told them what happened. It took 5 calls for it to spark any interest and it was reported he was heading towards a river. He had two other friends with him but he lost them.

Why didnt the operator take the call seriously, tell him to keep put or head for a noticeable landmark and find some shade and contact the correct emergency officials.

What a stupid bitch, because of her fuckup this kid is dead now, if she just showed some basic spark of intelligence rather than drooling on her keyboard she could have contacted other emergency rescue, or atleast got her supervisor to handle it.
