WOOT WOOT!!! Got my offer for interview today!! I'm probably going to choose an afternoon session on 27/8th September (only because my formal is on the 25th and I don't think UNSW Med will appreciate me rocking up hung-over on the 26th!)

Congratulations to everyone who received an offer for an interview!!

Just a silly non-UMATer question here, what if you don't make the predicted UAI cut-off circled by your principal?

Then what happens?

You'll be considered when you're real UAI comes out for second and late round interviews.

congrats to everybody who received offers for an interview, and congrats also to those who applied- it's not a simple process and takes alot of time and determination. There's hope yet in the second round so don't let it get you down!

unfortunately have not been selected for the main round of
interviews being conducted from 26 to 30 September
Applicants who were not selected for September interviews will be
considered for a smaller round of interviews to be held on January 3 and 4,
2006. Applicants will be invited to these interviews the week commencing
December 19, 2005 and will be selected on the basis of their combined
actual academic and UMAT results. Approximately 100 applicants will be
offered an interview in early January in accordance with a ranked list.
Please note that applicants with a total UMAT score of less than 150 (raw
marks not percentile rankings) will be most unlikely to be ranked high
enough to be offered an interview in January.
oh well...

for those of you who didn't get an interview, don't worry too much. You still have the HSC to complete and there are late round interviews.

My prinicipal was slack and said i'd get under 95 for my uai, so I didn't get a main round interview (grrr bitch). Got a late one, but didn't make much difference since i stuffed it up anyway hehe.

Yeah, it's suddenly clicked with them that if you want to get kids into the interview stage then it's gonna help if they get a decent estimate.

It's not supposed to, but to some extent it probably would.

i.e you only get the 500 or so viable candidates getting an interview all up, about 100 of those who would have got them getting awesome UMAT + awesome UAI.

But by accepting those with higher predictions and ok UMAT for interviews there is the potential to cut out those who would have done better, but are just unfortunate to be predicted something pov.

If that makes sense.
