yeah, but surely there's some link between the demand for the course and the quality of the course... Sure, there are other factors like being a new uni, and people in WS being bogans and not wanting to go to uni (apparently...), but the actual coure has gotta be a factor... you'd think...

As much as I would hate to say it.... try and find a spot in that 70UAI course next year. I can almost guarantee that will shoot up. In fact most of the UWS courses (around 84%) shot up this year. Demand is growing, and intake will vary.

As for teaching qaulity, its the same, but our Uni, comparing it to other accounts from other unis, tends to be a little better in that the good old way of teaching remains and that is done by the support of tutorials that many other universities I think are trying to do away with.

I'm at Bankstown as well, I admit it doesn't have state-of-the-art facilities like other universities, but we're doing quite well for a uni that doesn't exactly have the best funding from the government.

Plus, I've studied at UNSW before and I haven't ever regretted once my decision to transfer to UWS. I agree with natstar, people (students and lecturers/tutors alike) are more approachable in a uni where the status or prestige of the uni doesn't override the communication between the people there.

In relation to job prospects, I'm guaranteed a job once I leave my degree at UWS, whereas at UNSW I wasn't.

betcha the cutoffs for UWS is gona shoot up again, due to a number of reasons:

1. No HECS increases

2. New Unique courses

3. Reputation :)

I agree with Natstar. Many UWS courses are even surpassing their counterpart unis. For example Law at UWS is higher than UOW - the supposed 'job-guranteed' uni. And BBusComm course at Parra shot up to over 87, which shows that this trend represents that UAIs are increasing. Why? Increase in demand predominantely as the other unis have increases beyond the reach of many.

4. The limited amount of places being offered for 2005. Policing numbers went from 115 places offered to 65.

1) It is job guaranteed. Not supposed. :p

2) That''s just the tip of the iceberg. Did you not see the cutoff for B Health Science/LLB in Parramatta campus for the year 2002 compared to 2003?

B Health Science/B Laws (705680)

2002 Cutoff: 96.60
2003 cutoff: 90.10.

Now that''s scary. :p

What are you doing in the UWS forum? Leave our Uni alone, at least we have a Moot Court that the tv shows use. At least we offer PLT and at least many academics started their career teaching at UWS.

LoLz :D

1) We Started the PLT. ie. First university ever. We intorduced the course. :uhhuh:

2) We also have a moot court. :uhhuh:

3) Many academics started their teaching at UoW too. That dosen''t prove anything at all. In fact, admiting that many academics start a teaching career @ a particular university is bad. ie. lack of experience. :p

Not fighting here. :)

Heh, in the end it's going to be exactly like the UAI - it (degree) will get you a start somewhere, but no one really gives a shit after that .. especially about which university you studied at.

If you're going to be a tool, that's what the non-school forum is for.
