ISA is an association of students who believe that our student community is being corrupted by dishonest representatives (mostly of the Labor Left and Socialists). Our membership includes students from the entire political spectrum, including members of the Labor party, Liberal party, Socialist party, socialist conservatives and capitalist progressives.

We work together because we believe that for people in our universities, politics must not dominate the operation of our student organisations. This year, first year students at USYD had to shell out $660 in student contributions (plus GST) - money that represents an entire week's wages for people who are most likely to live week to week. If they're being forced to pay so much money, how come they aren't getting any value for it? Students are funding political campaigns, protests and even terrorist organisations, but the essential student services are Not being provided.

This semester, ISA is establishing the OurBloodySRC.com website, but we're doing so much more than that. From the ISA website, www.isa-usyd.org, we're running a new initiative, the Student Kitchen, to show young people on a budget how they can eat good quality and tasty food that meets their nutritional requirements and doesn't put a big hole in their budget. We're working with the Men's Health Information and Resource Centre to introduce men's health and wellness information on campus, to supplement the extensive resources of the SRC-provided Women's Office, Women's Collective and Women's Space. We're campaigning for the introduction of smart cards on campus to replace our existing paper student cards. And most importantly, we're keeping a watchful eye over the SRC and Union to keep students aware of where their money is actually going.

Fundamental changes to the ways student unionism work. Awareness of issues among even disinterested students. Practical experience in campaigning and policy for active ISA members. Branches at most universities in Australia, and ultimate control of the National Union of Students. And in the short term, control of the SRC and Union so that we can access that funding to continue our own work.

Reasonably well, considering recruitment has been without publicity whatsoever. Our first major recruitment push will be O-week.

I thought that the GST wasn't included, but I ran the numbers again and realised my mistake. That's no excuse for you to be so mean, wolfowitz. I am not a wanna-be.

I'm sorry, Phan. I'd edit my message, I really would. But that would mean backflipping.

But would you mind individualising the 'Quah report'? No one likes a wanna-be.
