Question 7b was simply a binomial DIFFERENTIATION and INTEGRATION question. Don't ask me how to do it, because I couldn't do it. I just knew it was diff. and int., so I wrote "differentiate both sides" then had a go at it. For (ii) all I wrote was "by integration,"

I'm hoping for a sympathy mark or two there!!

you left out the integration constants when you integrated twice.
without them you get 0. with them you get 1/(N+2) which is the right answer
