It is not fair that schapelle got 20 years, she should have got more.

But are we judging what is fair ACCORDING TO THE AUSTRALIAN LEGAL SYSTEM?!

more like we are judging what is fair according to our individual perceptions of fairness

An individuals perception of fairness is shaped by the society in which they grew up, and a legal system should exist to reflect that societies overall idea of what is fair.

I would like to know everyone's opinions. If you believe in the innocence/guiltiness of Corby - what do you believe in the way of Chamberlain's case?
i think it's interesting how one side believes the other side of each respective case.
I realise that this is completely irrelevent but yet relative to our discussion of the Australian legal System.

Yes. They should be able to shape their society in any way they want. It's not as if it affects you in any way. You have the choice of not going there if you are against the way they work, just as schapelle had the choice whether to go to bali or not...

Lindy Chamberlain case opinions/discussion/questions.

As I believe her case reflects the controversial decision, however, by our legal system, rather than the Indonesian legal system.
Which is different as Chamberlain was not travelling to Indonesia at the time she/the dingo murdered her baby, but still, I would like to hear people's opinions on Chamberlain in comparison to their Corby opinions.

There are some obvious boundaries to that concept, but I don't think that 20 years is intrinsically wrong for what Schapelle has done, although many might disagree.
