We were told last term there may be a teacher's strike Term 1, is this happening or not? If there is it'd extend my holidays till Friday, instead of having to go back Wednesday.

yeh, roughly this. The pay increases are actually 4.4% from January 2009, 3.8% from Jan 2010 and 3.8 from 2011. So its around 12%

ye, the pay rise was around 12-13%. I have school on the 28th (no teachers strike in our school).
