YAY!!! NEW SHIRTS! Here is the spotted one, in the flesh.
Nice...i like that it even has a place for the name badge!! My order status still says 'Warehouse' and I'm order number 906, so I guess I'll be waiting a while...:(

In other news, I was at Westfield Fountain Gate in South-East Melbourne today while it was being evacuated for severe flooding...I was standing at the checkout at Coles when all this water started pouring down from roof above the registers...quite bizarre

Haha that's the 'Woolworths Way'!

Seriously though, 10 supervisors in a WA store, that's pretty lucky.

We only have 4 supervisors (including CSM and 2IC) who are capable of 'running service'

We then have a few other people who have supervisor access on the registers so they can do refunds, spot checks etc.
That's stupid. Surely that absolutely sucks arse for your CSM, wouldn't they get some intensive training underway? And wouldn't the SSM put them under the pump to train better?

Shirt looks OK. I heart the smiley face.

It would be awesome if the new Coles shirt had nametag holes. I've got heaps of holes in my shirts from my badge.

CSM isn't there this week. Basically 3IC and three weekend sups working this week.

I'm gonna get my ass kicked when my CSM comes back. We have this bakery assistant who's been doing checkouts this week, well today I found out he is supervisor trained from another store and already had appropriate priviledges on his checkout bank. So I let him spot check and do refunds, etc. I asked my SM beforehand, he didn't respond, asked duty manager, she didn't care. So yeah, he spotted and did refunds. Seemed perfectly competent though, CSM is still going to ask questions.

So yeh, how badly am I going to get my ass kicked?

hope so, i just hope she doesn't go "omgz x person was on checkouts properly for the first time yesterday, why the hell is he refunding/spotting."

Its going to come up in reports though for sure tomorrow. Our 3IC didn't even know the guy yesterday when he was on checkouts so she's gonna raise some eyebrows.

BUT he wants checkout hours over bakery, so at least I made him work for them :haha:

Bullshit^^^ thats a lie I'm 14 getting 8.12pm probation and I apparetntly get a 1-2 dollar pay rise on my birthday so I'd say you would get about 16 or more on probation. BUT saying that, I'm in NSW

Nope.

how much does a 17 year old working on cash registers get?
18 y.o. permanent part time gets $12.47777
As a 17 y.o. I think I was on around $10.34? If you're casual you'd get 20% on top of that. Should be just over $12.40 (after probation) :)

This is NSW

I'm 18 and getting 10.9105/hour on my probationary period. I'm permanant part time, and in QLD. Casuals get 20% more.

Quick question about smokeshop , Do you have to be O/18 to do shifts on it now? cos some kids who work with me who are like 14-15 get more shifts on it than me -_-

I think it's what the relevant state's legislation says, along with area management and the Frontend manager's discrestion. From the Territory, I got to go up to smokes when I was 17 and I was only on my third shift.

All these people going on about pay rates need to understand that different states at the moment have different awards.

So Vic pays more than WA, and WA pays more than NSW.

WA: 15 year old casual is about $8ph, 17 is about $12ph.

Lol yeah we know, thats why we are discussing pay rates, because all/most states are different
