I hope they don't ask the same questions for last year, I have disregarded them haha! I find ancient history has more content than any subject, except possibly legal? Try doing the Julio-Claudians and Agrippina guys! Agrippina is okay, she is actually interesting... the Julio-Claudians however, are awful! ONE essay question and you need to know the policies, reformations, building project, relationship with senate, praetorian guard, army etc. I cannot wait until ancient is over! I think it is particularly lovely that they give us maths, religion and ancient ALL IN A ROW! AHhh :(

That's why I feel fortunate for doing both Xerxes and Persia for my period and personality. Both are probably the most interesting courses I've done in my six years of schooling. I just wish some Australian university had courses on Near Eastern Ancient history.

Minoa Crete and Pompeii on the other hand...

They do, Macquarie university.
May-cat! didn't know you ventured outside of the Macquarie Uni forum! :p
Are you referring to the undergraduate B.Arts 'Egypt and the Near East'? Because I cant find anything that centres around Persia:

Besides the capstone where you can seemingly pick your own topic http://api.prod.handbook.mq.edu.au/Unit/HTML/AHIS399/2012/9f9ef28dea630ae6311cc730207b2b59

It would be really awesome if they offered something on Persia and I was simply missing it!

I lurk here and there =]

You just need to know where to look! These units, while not focusing exclusively on the Near East, look at Persian/Iranian history in fair detail. I've taken a couple of them and they were absolutely fantastic, particularly 'antiquities heirs', did a major assessment on the promotion of religion in Sasanian Iran, interesting stuff.

That's awesome! I would never have selected any of those, Although I was considering the Near Eastern Documents and possibly Antiquity's heirs.

I seriously cant wait until the HSC is over and I can start doing ancient history at Macq!

Edit: I.O.U reputation when I spread it around.
