Yep:) That's the lowest in our school this year! I think 91.5 or 90.0

It's because most people who did not score above 70% in their prelims were probably offered a position at some other institution (kicked out lol) because we are partially selective and need to boost our school's rank up!
I thought only private schools had the authority to do that. If a government school does that they can get in serious trouble with BoS

That's not entirely true!
If the principal feels that the students are not working hard, they can consult BOS and ask for their permission! They started some new program, which transfer the low scoring students in other institutions... Quite complex

And also, there's probably a lot of other public + private schools around the Paramatta region so it doesn't matter that much.

Yeah it's some nazi strict school. Their principal is Hitler. They also "persuade" kids to drop out ect.
ETC.

I go to Homebush Boys.

Dux is usually about 99.8 (don't know about 2011). Doesn't mean it's a good school or anything as their is also a huge tail. (kids who should drop out ect)
THERE
ETC.
Why would you even think that et cetera abbreviated to ect?!
Who taught you that?!

Dux last year: 94.95
Dux this year: 99.65

Pretty funny.
2009: 99.25
2010: 98.65
2011: 96.90

Think ours is funnier.

My school/college (year 11&12 only) in Canberra ACT public [usual rank 14-20/21]:

2006: 99.70
2007: 99.30
2008: 99.95 (last yr of UAI)
2009: 98.90
2010: 99.20
2011: 99.50+

My Highschool (attended from yr8-10) Anglican ACT [usual rank 5-10/21]:

2008: 98.85
2009: 99.70
2010: 98.90
2011: 99.95 (Tied ACT dux)

My brother's school/college public [usual rank 2-4/21]

2008: 100 (ACT dux)
2009: 99.95 (Tied ACT dux)
2010: 99.95 X 2 (both ACT dux)
2011: 99.90

ACT colleges are generally more evenly spread than NSW schools, not just because of size but also there are no selective schools etc so people generally go wherever is closest.. though of course they're a few consistently high ranking schools each year..
