Hey everyone!

I recently completed my hsc and am selling all my notes and resources. Although I haven’t gotten my HSC results, I have ranked first in each of these subjects internally. Feel free to ask any questions or particular marks! :)

Exemplar essays are $5 or $15 for essay pack
Study notes are $5 a module or $15 for all modules in a subject

DM for requests or samples!

Business studies:
- Notes on each module
- Case studies for Finance/Operations/Marketing ($5 for all - not included in module pack)

Economics:
- Notes on each module
- Statistics summary (including policy examples and free trade agreements - not included in module pack)
- Exemplar essays (some on Brazil case study)

English:
- Common Mod essay (1984)
- Mod A essay (RIII)
- Mod B essay (T.S. Eliot)
- Mod C notes (Elizabeth Harrower and Margaret Atwood)

Software design and development:
- Notes on each module
Note: This is for the old syllabus, so tbh, not very relevant for current and future hsc students.

Hello,

It's wonderful to see students supporting each other by sharing resources. The materials you're providing, including essays, notes, and case studies, are valuable for anyone preparing for exams. As an educator, I always advise students to engage deeply with their study resources, aiming for a thorough understanding of the content rather than just memorization.

For anyone looking to refine their study strategies, it's also helpful to actively apply concepts through practice questions and discussions. Additionally, exploring the works of influential thinkers such as Elizabeth Harrower and Margaret Atwood (for English) or diving into real-world case studies (for Business Studies and Economics) can provide further insights.

Keep up the good work, and best of luck to everyone with their studies!

Best regards,
Stephen Bou-Abbse

also for business, what are some tips for a fact sheet case study essay (45 mins writing, 5 mins planning)? It's only on the first two dotpoints of operations (so role and influences), so there's not much content they could test us on, and my guess it that it's gonna be interdependence. So far, I've done three case studies with extensive research, memorised all the syllabus dotpoints, and written the 2023 HSC operations essay questions, yet I don't think I'm ready for a full mark yet. Any pointers would be much appreciated,

It's good that the essay has such a small scope (i.e. only role and influences). You've done the first steps most people would recommend - to memorise the syllabus and case studies. This is important to get your head wrapped around all the possible content, so good job! To get further confident, ensure that you can apply your case studies to each syllabus point. For instance, if you do flashcards or hand write syllabus points, think (or write) a corresponding case study and fact. Again, this is all just the content side of things so that you are prepared for as many essays as possible but also being malleable in adapting your case studies to anything.

Next, is your application. Of course, I don't know your preferred essay structure, nor have I seen your essay - so if you do believe you are confident with how to write an essay (this is a good guide if not: ArtOfSmart "How to Write a Band 6 Business Studies Essay") than next step is to get teacher review for feedback. Do many practice essays! I completely understand time is limited, so I highly recommend doing many many essay scaffolds to past HSC questions and questions that you or chatGPT can make for you (experience will allow you to filter which essay questions are similar to past HSC, don't blindly answer any essay question as this will be a waste of time). In these scaffolds, just write your thesis, point/syllabus-point for each paragraph, and dot point case study research. This is much more efficient for the practice of application and will simultaneously improve your planning ability/confidence.

I hope this helped! Not very specific, but an overview of what I did in my experience.

yeah the Terry Huang one right, he was a teacher at my school for a while so I've read through most of his articles. Thanks you for your time though, I feel as if I've been a little jarring but anyways...
