Yeah, you're right. I didn't consider hospital bureaucracy and the associated paperwork. If you know a doctor on the wards and they're happy to have you, do you need paperwork to follow them around? Surely a student following an intern around for the day is pretty innocuous, save perhaps...

    Help please

    1) Not sure. 2) Depends on your interests. All equally as useful. 3) ATAR, UMAT, interview.

I don't see how it's not that easy. Literally rock up to a teaching hospital, go to a ward and tell them you're a student. Best to go there early in the morning before they start ward rounds (usually 8:30 am).

Help on Hypertonic and hypotonic with fish

Mate. Salt water is hypertonic to fresh water. It contains more solutes (sodium chloride). The concept of tonicity is a relative one. 'Hypertonic' means the solution you're talking about has more solutes than the solution you're referencing. 'Hypotonic' means the opposite, that the solution...

Help with question on arteries and veins

Dude. Go to your nearest hospital or GP and ask if you can shadow a doctor. Then you can say you've seen that it's like and you think it's interesting and exciting. Job done.

    Advanced science or medical science?

Mate. Always go for the advanced science degree. It's harder to get into and thus more prestigious. It also affords you better flexibility in subject selection, as you pointed out. You're definitely able to get into medical research if you undertake advanced science and select your subjects...

    career options etc what's better?

Hey mate. 1) Not sure. 2) A degree in science gives you generic skills which are sought after in most workplaces (e.g., ability to critically appraise information, presentation skills, organisation skills, independent and collaborative working skills, understanding of the scientific method...

    B. Adv Science and B Med Science

Hey mate. 1) I recommend doing advanced science. It's a more prestigious degree. You can tailor its content to be similar to what's in B. medical science. 2) It doesn't matter what uni you attend regarding entry into medicine. I'd choose UNSW or USYD. 3) Not sure. 4) I highly doubt...
