    Parents?

Re: Something that made you say "my parents are so naive" Aww! That's really cute :p Generation gaps make for fantastic entertainment.

    2008 HSC Timetable

Re: Two exams in the same day? I had DT on the same day as English Paper 2. Really no fun :(

what did people make for their major works?

A photography magazine directed towards young, amateur photographers which covers a broad range of areas and simultaneously addresses issues such as social isolation, cultural awareness and environmentalism :) So glad it's over! That table is completely awesome by the way :D It sounds like it...

    Night before studier?

Good (or in this case, fantastically lengthy!) things come to those who wait :D Procrastination is leading me to reply freakishly quickly, but I completely understand the slightly more important need to study lol. I really need to get some done myself! Yeah, my sister did law for a while and...

    Gwen Harwood

I think that's the thing... you can state that almost any element of Harwood's poetry is memorable. The memorability of something is technically a personal opinion, so as long as you support what you say with evidence, you could say that the composer's discussion of...

    strictly ONE related text?

I have to disagree with you there lol. They won't totally ignore the second related material. If they had said 'support your answer with ONE piece" instead of "AT LEAST ONE piece", then perhaps. From the HSC markers I've asked, they've all said doing either one or two related pieces is fine...

    UAI's, is anyones bellow 90?

Haha I love this logic. I pretty much think the same way

Ummm, does anyone realise English is over for good?

Same here :( I can't wait for it to be over! I just need to work on doin a better creative piece lol. Good luck to all those doing ext 1 :)

Instead of how many pages, how many words did you write?

About 3400 I think. Any more and I probably would have broken my hand :p I'd forgotten how much doing exams actually hurts.

Did you use 1 or 2 related texts for Mdoule C?

Definitely not. Our teacher (an HSC marker) said analysing two episodes in detail is the optimum approach to take. Other methods are fine too, but doing two episodes is definitely not wrong.

Did you use 1 or 2 related texts for Mdoule C?

I did two related materials, just because I didn't have the heart to cut out either. Loved them both :p I had 'The Matrix' and two articles which I analysed as one text. The two Frontline episodes were 'The Siege' and 'Playing The Ego Card', with a teeny bit of 'Add Sex And Stir' mixed in. It...

Why do people always go on about pages written?

Not to mention, a large majority of the exemplar answers are about 5 1/2 pages long. As long as you've covered everything, the length really doesn't matter too much.

    Gwen Harwood

'Father and Child' and 'Alter Ego' :) The question was a little strangely worded ('memorable ideas'? I wonder if anyone actually argued against the memorability of Harwood's poetry :p), but essentially simple. You could incorporate it into any answer really, so that was good.

    messy handwriting

My teacher said it's given to the senior marker. Never heard of a handwriting specialist being used.

    Night before studier?

Haha, a squirrel in a centrifuge is an image I'm probably going to have with me for the rest of my life. People like that certainly make me laugh though. Yeah, it'll definitely be a well-earned change. From what I've seen too (although I'm sure it's entirely dependent upon which course you...

    Night before studier?

Lol yeah, I'm certainly not encouraging ignorant egotism. And I know what you mean. I've found that it's often the people that do the best who are the most insecure. After the HSC, I'm sure we'll both have time to work on our self-confidence issues :) Not to mention, there's uni where we can...

    Uni's wishing us good luck

I actually thought the opposite lol. It seems as though USYD was so pretentious that they knew they didn't have to ramble on about their brilliance... they just assumed one sentence (and their already-established reputation) was more than enough for them to make their 'we are the best' statment :p
  18. lucidassembly

other people making me feel guity.

Wow, I can't imagine the pressure after getting dux every year. I somehow managed it twice, and it really messed me up for a while because I thought everything had to be utterly brilliant. Good luck though :)
  19. lucidassembly

Is anyone else dreaming about HSC subjects?

I had a friend who dreamed she married the Tsar of Russia :p Kinda wish it had been mine lol... it certainly would have been interesting!
