    Traveling to uni time consuming??

i live 15 minutes away but if i took public transport it would take 45. however you get to uni you get used to it.

Not happy with offer...what do i do??!!

it depends on the uni and course. i know students (at uow) who were well under the cutoff and i don't know which round offer they got but they got well in under the cutoff...probably because uow generally finds it harder than say usyd/unsw/uts to fill their places. if someone isn't far off from...

    need current uni students' opinion

it will be handy to have your own computer, unless you do all your work at uni...its just a nuisance if you share with family because you will have one or two programming subjects. you can make time for games if that's if you want to do, its a heavy workload but there's always time for other...

Not happy with offer...what do i do??!!

if they have vacancies and your uai isn't too much lower than you *should* get in all you can do is accept the offer, change your preferences and hope to get a late round offer.

    Question

if you're transferring across from another degree you could also look into specified credit for programming subjects if you did any.

    Help me choose a course!

whatever you are interested in or whatever one you think you can get highest marks in. i know someone who went from transferred from comm/law to medicine after a year so you don't *have* to do a certain science degree or something.

    Help me choose a course!

you say you're prepared to move interstate? well why don't you do a science course at your local uni (and get high marks), do your umat again and then apply for medicine in every uni you can?

    I Am Legend

if this was based on a book i'd like to read the book. it had its moments but all in all it was quite boring. it was pretty funny that after like 30 min of previews, to see people leave in the first 15 minutes. :p

When do we find out? - NSW Uni offers

If you get an offer to Wollongong Uni offers are in the Illawarra Mercury as well.

Unfair mum - TAFE or UNI ?

Hmmm how do you know he has missed out on his course? The offers haven't been released and even then he might be able to get a second/final round offer anyway. Yeah the mum is being unfair. Maybe TAFE *is* a better option. What course is it? If he really wants to go to uni he is going to...

    Parking

That's because everyone is on at lunch time, because they have a break (you'd think they would be having lunch). If you come in earlier or later in the day its not *too* hard to find a computer somewhere around, even if it isn't in Building 17.

    Is this question possible?

arcsin is the inverse sine function.
  14. W

    Is this question possible?

lol. yeah my bad. i thought that answer looked too neat :o
  15. W

    Is this question possible?

    so you want to find prim (1 - x2)0.5 let x = sin@ so now it becomes prim (1-sin2@)0.5 = prim (cos2@])0.5 = prim (cos@) = sin@ + c = x + c
  16. W

    Parking

when you're using the uni computers you have 400MB of internet quota per session. if you use youtube, myspace/facebook and any live streaming things a lot you could see that quota disappear quite quickly.

frames of reference and motion of ball

inertial frame of reference is where there is no acceleration. so that's constant velocity or at rest (think newton's first law). a) inertial, ball would go straight down b) non inertial, ball would go straight down, not sure how fast it would go relative to the lift c) non inertial, ball...

Flexibility on order in which you do your subjects/units..

you don't *have* to do them first, no. but if you decide not to go to comm/arts and you have subjects to make up that are prerequisites for your second year subject or something you might have problems...

    Averaging 70

if you're good enough to get 90+ UAI you are good enough to get 70.

    Subjects

no they don't get removed from the transcript. it will show what you studied under your old degree, then your new one. not sure what happens with specified credit though.
