    change in GPE= mgh work done = fd if you lift something up that's work done and a change in GPE. d = h, and f = mg. so they are equivalent.

    Are lectures really necessary?

    Just because lectures are on overheads/pp slides it doesn't mean its not necessary to go to the lecture because lecturers may be sly and not give you the complete lecture notes so they won't make much sense unless you go. It's best to see the lecturer about their methods of delivery and stuff...

    swap essays after your trials. after trials you have all your ranks settled, you are all working together as a school to maximise your marks (because if everyone improves, then internal marks get moderated heaps) so sharing essays is only going to help you.

    pretty much no matter what degree you will do chances you will do subjects that you do not like (core subjects are more broad) especially in first year as you do a broad range of subjects.

    ^^Yeah that's really all there is to it. Chances are they won't remember you unless they're your tutor or you're forever coming to them asking questions for assignments or something. Or if you have < 30 people in your course.
