    WHATS EVERYONES CRATIVE WRITING PLAn

just something to make it clear that they are listening to song lyrics in their head. i guess you don't even have to say what they are - unless for some reaosn the title/artist is particularly important, than the relevance of the lyrics should hopefully speak for themselves

    About advance english and scaling

firstly, the most important thing is to make an appointment to talk to your teacher as soon as possible and explain your concerns. they can offer you better advice than any of us can as they will have a far better idea of your potential. if you decide to stay in advanced and are still...

    technique?

id tend to agree --> a tagline is commenly used in advertising, like kimmeh said. for martin luther king, although his phrase has almost been turned into a tagline line, in discussing his original speech i think id stay with reinforcement of message via repetition

    Memorizing Essays.........

    1. that was taken completely out of context, which effectivly negates your post 2. neither i, nor anyone else who shares my views on not memorising essays have tried to "scare people," we have simply responded to a query, giving our opinion on why we feel memorising essays is not the better...

    how do u describe tone?

reminiscent is the form you're looking for. and yes, that would be suitable, as would reflective, wistful etc. these are not examples of tonal description but are separate language features.

    First, second or third person??!!

yes, it DOES detract from your essay. Generally, the use of phrases such as "my opinion is" and the like create tortological nonsense within your essay which cannot do anything but detract from the quality of the piece. A phrase such as "my opinion is..." is on a par with the phrase "I saw it...

    First, second or third person??!!

exactly - thanks for that nwatts, this is, essentially, what i meant to convey (and obviously didn't huh?). A formal tone in an academic essay is essential. yes, there are high range answers using 'I', especially if you look at last year's King Lear responses. HOWEVER, what is usually...

    WHATS EVERYONES CRATIVE WRITING PLAn

of course, you'll have to find some way of letting the marker know that it's a song they're hearing internally and responding to, otherwise it could come across strangely. the trick will be to find some way of doing this subtley and incorporating it tastefully and sophisticately into the story

    WHATS EVERYONES CRATIVE WRITING PLAn

there's a difference between writing with emotion to convey emotion and writing on an 'emotional topic'. the first is what we want to see, it's the second that's dicy, difficult to do well and, quite frankly, very unoriginal

My King Lear essay (Shocking? Needs help)

    1. your first sentence is awkward. Try starting with “Since…ago, King Lear…” 2. avoid being vague – so don’t use words like ‘almost’ 3. too much background on feminism * you aren’t writing a 2000 word essay where you can avoid to take plenty of time to intoduce topics. Use techniques to...

My King Lear essay (Shocking? Needs help)

actually, this is untrue. yes, the russian revolution was in 1917 HOWEVER it a case similiar to the French Revolution --> most people only know about the first one. There was great political unrest and uprisings circa 1969. that said, the point is that, correct though it is, unfortunately it's...

Predict the possible 2005 Modules King Lear Question

guys, don't worry so much about the format - that's not the most important part of the question. just remember to look at the rubric of the question: whatever questions they ask, the rubric essentially stays the same - and, since this is what tells you what you will be marked on in a marking...

How to structure the KL essay?

last year we had to refer to specific scenes but, unless they ask you for specific references, no, you don't have to (though it will come out anyway in dicussion of technique). that said, you may find it useful to concentrate on two scenes for easier structure and coherency (the division of the...

    another question

preferably don't abbreviate at all - neither 'Tintern Abbey' nor 'The Solitary Reaper' are long titles. If you feel you must, however, do not use them in the introduction to your essay. The first time you use either title in the body write it out in full (yes, again) and then use brackets...
