    what's my school ranked?

    Yo lazyKorean, you laugh at Homebush Boys' - yet you fail to realise that the majority of our school has english problems. You also fail to realise that this puts us at a severe disadvantage on this seemingly meaningless ranking list (i.e. how can the majority get a band 6 in say ESL or...

    predict ur mark!

    Yes, it's the same with Advanced english. The marks are aligned according to the general candidature performance in the electives. For example, Individual and Soc might have generally very high marks, so they may not get aligned as much as say Retreat from the Global candidates (who had to...

    retreat from the global ppl - what da u reckon?????????

    Yeah that's basically the stuff I discussed. I talked about Shipping News, so E Annie Proulx just went about the necessity for retreat to leading a fulfilling life and how it's impossible to COMPLETELY retreat from global influences. The key was to also relate to "modern life". So you had to...

    Retreat From The Global

    Erm, no...you should address post-colonialism in Heaney because the global influences addressed in the poems concern colonialism. The context Heaney writes in is a post colonial era, full of sectarian violence and what not. Heaney draws comparisons between past and present events to make a...

    11 hours and counting! Your thoughts in a word

    *tries to integrate into group hug, but globalisation prevents it as it is eroding the traditional boundaries forcing me to retreat and preserve the local customs of...wait what am I talking about?*

    rftg - the shipping news

    I would tend to disagree there. A hero is usually one who overcomes various flaws within themselves and those around him. If Quoyle succeeds in attaining fulfillment, despite the fervent opposition of globalisation, wouldn't that make him a hero? :eek: Don't mind my meaningless ramblings...

    UNC Med

    Well looks like I'm a bit late, but yeah I got an invite...hopefully I'll do a better job over there than I did at UNSW. *Reminds self never to ask smart-ass questions like "So what do you think of the new selection system?" again*

    Estimate your mark --->

    As I understand it, they moderate and/or align the marks in accordance with the candidature performance. (This is done by BOS)... But i know for sure that UAC scales your final HSC mark for calculation of your UAI. So if you get a mark of 80% in the final Maths mark, that could go down to...

    Question 5....

    That inflection point is needed for part (iii). You needed to show where it was concave down and it's: 0< x < 2 since it starts to concave up past that inflection point.
