    social life at unsw

for group work, it usually depends on your tutor/lecturer whether they will let you choose your own groups or not. it's not a set rule or anything. sometimes getting random groups is good for meeting new people, but if it doesn't work out too well then you're stuck with them :P I was allowed to...

lol you'd probably have a very hard time trying to find a uni that offers medicine that isn't overly populated with asians :) but on the other hand, out all of the people i know doing med at unsw, none of them are asians, so maybe my assumptions are wrong

All right, who'll be joining the ranks next year?

If all else fails, you could try to get a rent-share house near uni. They normally cost around $140/room/week and include all expenses other than food. The good ones even include a personal TV set and internet connection :) Infact, my friend just recently found a nice big house with everything...

i don't think fobs are defined as that, literally or figuratively. you'd find a lot of asians like to hang around with other asians, and aussie asians that act 'overly asian' aren't called fobs, they're called annoying and yes it's annoying when aussie asians say 'la' at the end of an english...

    UNSW O-Week 2006

heh, be sure to include the retarded sun dial, the missing bell on top of it, the round shaped thing that some engineering student broke at the library lawn :p they always generate conversation

    Timetabling - Any tips?

ya maybe. anyway, the questions you'll get in the quizes are generally very similar to the practice quizes that you get in your workbook, so they shouldn't be too much trouble unless you don't understand a thing like me right now (doing summer session maths).

    UNSW O-Week 2006

O-Week was mad fun last year :D You get heaps of shitty free stuff that tends to be thrown around... but hey it's free. The tours are pretty good for meeting people you'll probably never talk to ever again, but hey they give you free condoms and drinks. I definitely recommend going to the...

    Timetabling - Any tips?

There's usually about 3-4 different versions of a maths quiz each time you have one. They just give them out randomly so it's harder for you to cheat if you do the quiz at a later date/time... although it's still possible if you find 3-4 friends that did the 3-4 different versions. The quizes...

    Timetabling - Any tips?

i find it best to start class in the afternoon. that way, you get your sleep (so you can concentrate on class more), and you miss out on the morning peak hour... although sometimes that means you have to endure the evening peak hour :p

    UNSW Cricket

Hidiho Just wondering if anyone knew anything about the UNSW cricket club. There's not much info on the site about it. I just want to know people's experiences with the club. I'm interested in cricket as a sport but I haven't played it competitively for about 7 years, so I'm quite crap...
