I think you will find that the most desired career path for any combination with a law degree is a legal career path. The second degree is compulsory for undergrad law students at most universities.
This discussion isn't mostly about suicide but there is a link between suicide rates and intellectual inability to meet educational expectations. I don't have the time to bring out links to articles right now, but you should admit that there's some truth in my generalisations.
If there are more philosophical people there will probably also be more depression, suicide, brooding and relativism. Society ought to only have a limited number of people bearing the intellectual burden. I'm with lengy on this.
I hate people who get frustrated by opinions they regard as "extreme". The fact that something is extreme doesn't make it automatically wrong, nor is a "moderate" view formed by compromise always correct.
In my opinion a utopic state would be the one proposed in Brave New World - caste system, no individualism, maximum utility. That of course is unrealistic as humans are weaklings with no will to create such a world, just as we have no will to abandon governance and adopt pure libertarianism...
Well not really, since developing countries consume less resources per capita. Overpopulation per se is not the problem - it's the amount of resources the population consume.

When you are the least learned person in the discussion, being only in Year 11, you ought to try and avoid the subject of your credentials rather than boast about them.
I think you only see it this way because:
a: you don't agree with the political objectives of the protesters who are "idiots".
b: you assume that your views are shared by that of the voting public.
Are you saying:
- that all humans are instinctively homosexual although most are able to overide those instincts?
- that homosexuals are instinctively homosexual and hetereosexuals are instinctively heterosexual, but since homosexual behaviour is unacceptable it is incumbent on homosexuals...
