Questions Regarding Census Dates, Enrolment and Tax File Numbers

    1) Census Date for most uni for Sem 1 is 31 March 2) Yep, payment is due on the 31st of March, and you can withdraw before then. 3) You go to the ATO (in person at one of their branches) for a Certificate of Application. It's effectively a form that states you're waiting on a TFN to come in...

    Deferring course

Haha, in that case you'll want to accept and defer the current course, but make sure to withdraw if you get your Late Round offer that you want.

    confused..late round question

Make sure you enrol. You can enrol in the course you got and then withdraw if you get your actual wanted course in the Late/Final rounds. If you don't enrol in the current course, and then miss out on the Late/Final rounds, you'll be kicking yourself.

    Best plan of attack....

Accept whatever you've got so you don't get nothing. Then reshuffle your prefs for the Late Round. If you get in on the Late Round then withdraw from your UTS and take up the course you actually wanted. On the off-hand that that fails, you can always do what you want to do in Uni when selecting...

    About attending lectures

For the most part you will have to go to Labs. It's more of a practical class where you do things/experiments/etc. related to what you've been studying in your course.

    Deferring course

Accept the offer, change your preferences a little, and then if you get your Late Round offer you can simply withdraw from the USyd course you've been offered. If you decline this offer, and then luck hits you and you don't get a Late Round offer, you'll be kicking yourself. Also, don't...

    What exactly is SA-HELP?

Basically what Rafy said. You defer the payment of your student amenities fee until you get in decent-paying employment. If you have the ~$200 bucks it costs per year, pay it imo.

    Missed out by 0.3!

I think it's easier to get a higher WAM in Science as opposed to Arts as the answer's always black and white in Science, as opposed to what can be shades of grey in an Arts course. It all depends on how you learn and what you like.

How many days do you go to uni?

Sure, but it does adequately explain what "supply and demand" is in reference to Uni courses.

    Medical Science and Electives @UNSW

You have to do them in order. Plus, Psych B is only offered in Second Semester, so you can't do it this semester.

How many days do you go to uni?

What people are saying (Usyd arts > UNSW arts) is correct, however extrapolating on that, the reason why the cut-off is lower is simply because they need to fill up the course, and if the cut-off was higher (90>), less people would apply and hence there would be less people taking the course...

    Exam Timetable

I think the way it was was that they weren't courses that required formal timetabling for the exam, etc. Hence it was just a "hey it's on this date, come and do it".

    How do you handle breaks?

Don't drink, so that's out. Still, good ideas all round.

    Exam Timetable

A couple of courses I took a while back had the exam dates in Syllabus. Assumed this was the case with all courses. My bad. :(

    Exam Timetable

Not this early, exam dates usually are revealed in the syllabus for the courses you're taking. In any case I'd say it's highly likely you'll have something around that time.

is 3 lectures in 1 day too much?

If two tutes back-to-back were a problem, no-one would be in Uni. You'll be fine. Stop fretting, and relax.

    How do you handle breaks?

So if you've got a few breaks in between Lectures/Tutes/Labs, what do you do to make up the time? I mean obviously during a lunch break you eat but what if you have another break, etc. What do you do to waste time?
