This years CSSA physics paper actually had people OUTSIDE of the catholic sector involved (a teacher from a public school in NW Sydney was part of setting the paper, as was a person from the Australian Institute of Physics)
I am actually attending an inservice next week with other teachers...
FIRST THING YOU HAVE EVER SAID THAT IS INCORRECT!!!
If you connect a voltmeter in series with a circuit, the reading on the voltmeter will be ~the circuit voltage (assuming Rvoltmeter >> Rcircuit)
Hey guys,
If you have any questions prior to trials, throw them in this thread and I (and hopefully others!) will do my best to answer them asap!
Alternatively, PM me or send me an email at enquiries@maddfizzycyst.com if you do not feel comfortable sending questions via BoS.
If i receive...
Ahhhh yes...
Meissner and Lenz... I have seen trial papers where marking guidelines say that you MUST talk about Induction with the Meissner Effect :\
They are quite different things! Lenz arises due to rate of change of flux, Current loops in the Meissner effect arise due to flux in general...
Re: HSC Physics Marathon 2014
How we going?!?!
Time to revive this thread me reckons!
'Discuss the effect that devices utilising the motor effect have had on society'
COME @ ME
There would not be too much subjectivity though as the marking groups are constantly monitored, samples taken and checked etc..
As strawberrye says, if you get someone who knows what they are doing to mark your stuff and give feedback you will pick up pretty quickly what you need to do :)
Yes, but marking criteria can also be subjective to a degree
'demonstrates coherence and logical progression'
'demonstrates thorough knowledge and understanding'
'cause and effect of at least one significant positive effect'
All of this is from one question from the 2011 HSC -- some marking...
No, not true.
your teacher may take marks off you for incorrect sig figs, in the HSC they dont take marks off you, but if you are expecting to be a Band 6 student, correct sig figs is something they expect of a Band 6 student, so you should do it :)
Re: HSC Physics Marathon 2014
Answers for the sniper question are 0.59º and 89º45'
:-)
I will give you a hint: It ends up as a quadratic in Tan.
If u want the worked answer, I will post up :-)
Judging by the copyright notice on the pdf, it applies to the pdf, not the responses themselves.
So, hw will just type up the responses on Word or sumn id imagine
People sell their HSC responses all the time on here.
People sell 'state ranking' notes on here all the time which contain copyrighted info, diagrams etc..
My state ranking Physics student:
MC 18/20
Core 55/55
Option 25/25
Total: 98/100 --> Exam Mark 99
He will soon be selling his paper on the forum.
I can't believe he got full marks in all the worded responses! Crazy!
Re: HSC Physics Marathon 2014
Because although its on a new page, under a new heading, its part (d) of the question! All the other info you need is in the main description of the question :-)
Re: HSC Physics Marathon 2014
Ur missing the muzzle velocity of 800ms-1 and the fact that when in the prone position, the muzzle is 30cm off the ground ;)
Fighting words, mate!
