    Hsc record of achievement

Don't you get a hard copy from your School? If not, you might have to contact the Board of Studies and pay like $10 to get a copy.

    Inter-university events?

Well, if MULS interacts with the USyd equivalent, best to ask the USyd equivalent.

    Primitive function without expansion?

Only works for polynomials of degree one, or less. Integrating x^2 with this format would mean \int x^2\,dx=\frac{x^3}{2x.3} = \frac{x^2}{6} or something

    Primitive function without expansion?

They don't learn that in 2u, not for cubics, I believe.

    Primitive function without expansion?

Well, the 3u kids could do it easily... not sure about 2u only peeps.

    Cost of travelling to UNSW?

Also another cool thing about myMulti is that you can go on "adventures" for free. For instance, if your friend at say... Sydney Uni wants to meet up for lunch in the city - great! Just use your myMulti, it's "free". If you single buy your tickets or have travelTen's... well, that's less good.

    UNSW 2014 Rollcall

Re: UNSW 2014ers Rollcall Yeah... those aren't mathsy at all. Like. At all. You'll be fine even without being super great at maths.

    3 Unit vs 4 Unit

That's "officially". I did MATH1141 and only got like 165 or so combined, but that didn't stop me from getting an HD average for my first year subjects. What I really suggest is: - If you like maths, or are good at maths, and feel you can step up to the required standard: take Higher - Take...

    3 Unit vs 4 Unit

Any will do. I prefer Fitzpatrick myself, but others prefer Cambridge. Graphs, complex numbers, polynomials, integration and complex numbers (again) are probably what you should focus on.

    UNSW 2014 Rollcall

Re: UNSW 2014ers Rollcall What commerce major are you looking at? Some of them don't even need all that much maths.

    3 Unit vs 4 Unit

First year maths is basically MX2 revision, plus extra. If you're not comfortable or familiar with it, you'll be relearning stuff that a sizable portion of the class have already learned, and is simply revision for them. You'll be severely on the back foot.

    UNSW 2014 Rollcall

Re: UNSW 2014ers Rollcall For first year, they basically go through the MX1 and MX2 subjects again, along with matrices, some basic theorems in calculus and introduce you to the basic notation and concepts that will be explored later on if you do higher levels of mathematics. ------ And to...

    Synonym for walking nervously?

Though the meaning of 'traipse' is to "walk reluctantly", when I envision the word and someone "traipsing along", I envision a light gallop or a jolly walk. That's just me though. (but isn't that onomatopoeia) yes, but the best writing not only communicates what you want literally, but the...

Any girls doing engineering - UWS?

Yeah. Also never would've guessed mechatronic. Maybe biomedical... but never mechatronic. It's software, what do you think? :p

Any girls doing engineering - UWS?

irrelevant I can sit in my lectures and bask in the ambiance, and sit smugly while thinking, "Engineers would kill to be in a place like this". Overall on average, 1:1. Depends based on what major you're doing.

What's the best degree to do with commerce?

To the OP: Do what you like, do what you're interested in - don't do a degree just because it's "the best" one. Look at the university handbooks and the like, and do some research. I did Commerce with my maths degree before "because it'd get me a job" but I found it bland and boring so I...
