Both are true. But the trick for the second one is that the membership fee is zero. :p

Back-to-back tutorials - good or bad?

Reschedule your class. Or walk faster. Leaving early from a tute... doesn't look good to me - I wouldn't do it, but if you're not the type that cares - go for it.

    The Football Thread

Re: The Official A-League Thread. Yeah but... I like the good seats :p I'm not really an active support guy. I'm more of a fan. One thing I do like having a seat high up though is watching team movements - I think the team movements are pretty cool to watch - how the back four narrow in when...

    A few questions

There's a few lecturers who make lectures fun and interesting. There was one lecture I had where I constantly questioned my need to wake up at 6am for though. But I like my Arts lectures for atmosphere, personally.

Re: The Official A-League Thread. nice I had to acquire funds before I could sign up. Who knew finding $190 odd would be difficult?

    ARC membership

People are lazy, some people feel they don't need it, people can't be bothered to wait in line or whatever, etc. etc.

    Question on Log Function

What log is it? Natural log? Base 10?

    A few questions

I don't like the term 'dropped out'. I prefer "transferred because Commerce is the most boring and dull thing ever and there's no atmosphere in the lectures".

What would you tell your first-year self?

Also join societies. MathSoc I hear is exceptionally good. And ArtsSoc is also super fun-erific if you are an Arts student.

What is the EASIEST subject at UNSW?

WAM booster... hmm, I wish I could help - my WAM boosters have ended up being Higher Maths subjects for some reason, and not the Commerce courses I thought it would be. (probably due to motivation - or lack of it - in Commerce, but anyway...)

    Maths in an economics degree

Yeah, econometrics is... maths-based economics. So... yeah I'd expect the maths there to be a touch more difficult.

What would you tell your first-year self?

"Make more of an effort to meet people in your classes." Oh, and "Don't cram. Actually try and do the work and keep up with it - so you don't sit like a stunned mullet in tutorials when they're going through content you haven't touched".

    A few questions

Okay, so there - you can't "fast track" your degree unless you apply for overloading.

    The Football Thread

Re: The Official A-League Thread. Well did you see what Kalac did to the ref... he basically hounded him. And what did Griffiths say to the linesmen anyway? I was watching The World Game but then Les Murray was like "We've blurred out his lips well... because... yeah."

Re: The Official A-League Thread. Ah, a fellow Wanderer. Nice to see! I too am a Foundation Member but I got in a little later so my number is over 3000... But yeah, Ono and Hersi are doing very well. I think it's just Ono's brilliant skill that just allows him to get the ball to Hersi, and...

    Inequalities

Ah that's alright, it's only a silly mistake. Everyone makes them. If it makes you feel better, I did 2 x 2 x 2 = 2 in an exam. oops. :p

    Inequalities

If p > 14/17 Plug in 1 to the inequality. You get [3(1) + 2]/[5(1) - 3] > 4 But LHS is 5/2, and 5/2 > 4 is impossible. Maybe you took the wrong case with your graph?
