    just a tad confused

And if you bomb out in both? The system is fairer than that. It rewards you for yearly work, not just if you had a good day on two exams. Plus, how can you determine how difficult an exam is? Moderation and ranks and all that reward you for consistent work and also allow schools who set very...

Well then you would get 93 as your External HSC mark. And you'd get something less than 93 for your Internal Assessment Mark because you're not ranked 1st. So since you're ranked seventh, you might get say... 85. So your final HSC mark would be 89, in that case.

What is the difference between B Economics and B Commerce

Look at the degree handbooks. Commerce allows you majors such as Finance and Accounting, or Marketing or Management. Economics just gives you Economics or Econometrics and those things.

    Maths at Uni

Clearly because kids in Asia get forced to do Medicine and Law, not maffs. And because they aren't doing what they are actually good at (maffs), the rankings get dragged down! /hypothesis

    Transfer into UTS Law?

^ exactly If you put your UWS preference 1st, then how the hell will you know if you got into Sydney if you put it after? Again, it's preferences for a reason. And you have nine of them. Heck, I put Midwifery as my ninth preference for the lulz - so if I got an offer for that, I'd be like...
