Depends. If it's a high demand course, the cut-off will rise because lots of people want to take the remaining spots. If it's low demand, it may go down because it's harder to fill places.

Depends on the university. For UNSW, I was able to accept my new offer in the second round while simultaneously declining my old offer in the Main Round.

Yes, it scales well. HSC year Extension work is okay. Not that difficult, but the applications can get quite tricky.

I've seen James Ruse people slump to mediocrity and settle for final marks of 60-odd. Not everyone is lazy, but I'd wager a good proportion are. Because no one tells you to study at uni, it's all about finding your self-motivation.

Did you get an offer for Comm/Eco? If so, you're already in it - and you just pick the courses you need from it.

You choose. As long as you do the 8 you have to by the end of the year. Some are only offered in Semester 1 or Semester 2 though, so check.
