    General Uni questions...

If you are reliant on Youth Allowance/Austudy during your studies (which I doubt as nurses can do shift work) then there are issues if you have done a degree previously (its one of those Centrelink fine print things).... but if you aren't - go nuts! There are limitations also if you are...

Everyone who is doing a tertiary preparation course....

Have you looked at doing the freebie CSU Connect course (it's like a Tertiary Prep thing) that guarantees you entry to their distance education Bachelor of Health Science (Food & Nutrition) the following year? It's a food technology course so you would need to do an honours 4th year or Grad...

    Tafe Nsw To University

Some uni's are stingy and only offer 3-6 months credit, others like CSU offer a full years credit at least. Advanced Diploma gave Mum 1.5 years credit for Accounting at CSU. You really have to contact each one directly - even though many will not discuss specifics unless you are enrolled there...

Is there a time when your hsc expires?

Try Open Universities (Monash, MQ, RMIT etc)... www.oua.edu.au ...They'll let you do uni with no entry requirements. Most uni's do understand that people can turn over a new leaf and that life experience (read: maturity) counts for something.... but they have quotas so it is still...

    Fail Assessment for being unprepared?

Hope you went ok. The teacher should have given you a "Student Assessment Guide" for the course and for each and every unit you are enrolled in. In the SAG it will outline how you will be assessed (e.g. portfolio, exams, quiz, weekly tasks etc). You should of signed a piece of paper (SAG...

    UNI Ranks

CSU is a different environment being country based. You actually are allowed to approach your lecturer *shock horror*. Most courses you can transfer to distance education if you get a job mid-degree. The hoity-toity-ness that I saw at city uni's just isn't there. Due to the locations, yeah the...

    TV Prod Mid Year

Sorry, doesn't look like they have a mid-year entry to TV Proddy.... only the Honours add-on bit. http://www.csu.edu.au/student/midyear/courses/media.htm Best to give the admin ppl a call to double check. The TV Proddy students I met were a world unto themselves (in a good way). Maybe...

HSC: Difference between Statement of Attainment and Certificate III?

If the SoA requires 2 modules in order to get your pretty TAFE certificate, that's all you have to do to get it. If you do (say) 200 modules in the same SoA, you still get the same pretty TAFE SoA certificate (going way beyond what is required for that bit) plus also (if you wangle it right)...

    Design Courses (Billy Blue, UTS)

If you click on the link they provided, Billy Blue do offer 2 Bachelor degrees, but they are awarded by Swinburne Uni. Thomson Education Direct (now Cengage) now offer a Bachelor of Accounting and they aren't a uni - it's a new (albeit disturbing) trend...

    Which uni for teaching?

UNE and CSU have good reputations in terms of practical Education degrees. CSU transformed from the Riverina Teacher's College in year dot and likewise for UNE in that district, so it's not like they woke up one day and decided to do Education degrees (which seems to be the case for some other...

From the OTEN Course info leaflet.... Course 6505 in HSC Studies prepares students to obtain either a Record of Achievement for Preliminary and HSC year or to obtain the HSC award in New South Wales. The HSC award is given by the Board of Studies (not TAFE) and students must satisfy the...

    Distance Education

On the forums at OUA, there is a 16 year old doing a degree, some people are 50-60 and doing it for personal reasons, a lot have young kids.
