Change to firefox http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/ thats should help, usually its just java or flash fucking up. We had the same problem on one of our computers (using IE) - firefox solved the problem.

^^pretty much the same as that at ANU. It can really depend when your exams are. I had my exam on the last day of the exam period, so my break was 3 weeks, however i know people who finished in the first week /didnt have exams and had 5 weeks break.
