Failed units appear on your transcript however they are not counted in your WAM/GPA/Unit count as you have failed the unit.

Job prospects of an MFin student?

Is an MBA actually even worth doing? The circicullum of the ones I look at are pretty horrible - I'd imagine the only thing I'd get out of it is a small bit of management skills and some networking S:

STILL trying to figure out which course to do, advice appreciated

Just do maths (and computer science if you are that desperate.) In the time it takes for a double degree you could have your masters in financial mathematics or honours in computational mathematics. I signed up for Bachelor of Computer and Mathematical Sciences / Bachelor of Commerce - dropped...

Picking up a second subject after a semester/year?

Before you read I don't go to UNSW and have limited information on their courses (was considering going there for awhile): If you wanted to do say philosophy you would do something like: First Year: ARTS1361 Philosophy...

Picking up a second subject after a semester/year?

You should be able to do commerce subjects under your arts degree then transfer a semester/year in if you maintain a GPA of over 5.5 (~65% average.) You won't be behind unless UNSW are jerks. You seriously need to consider telling your parents to shut the fuck up though and lead your own life -...

Important advice for all those considering studying engineering next yr

Immunology I've heard is - looking at the stuff my girlfriend does (biomedicine) there is way too much shit to remember. Physics would be pretty hard too depending on the specific topics - you could say mathematics is hard though there are topics like set theory which are (apparently) quite easy.

Important advice for all those considering studying engineering next yr

+1 All of my friends who fail multiple units multiple times drink all the time and don't bother attending class or studying. Medicine, Actuarial, HXC Medical Sciences, Law @ ANU > Engineering Wait so they were amazed that you require 85 as your fall back course? I think Commerce is 97 to...

Job prospects of an MFin student?

I do A MFin will make you look like: a) a student who isn't good enough to get a grad position b) a student who is too afraid to leave uni c) a student who can only do coursework I'd do honours and make sure you do get a grad position otherwise a grad course in law is an option. Leave a...

    Economics Honours

Masters is expensive as fuck - I'd do honours as you'd get a bit of research experience as opposed to coming across as employers as someone who can't think independantley.

    Commerce/economics... and a language..?

I know what you mean about working. I've been a volunteer teacher's assistant for 2 weeks, run my own business and do a small amount of tutoring. I really don't want to work in retail which seems to be what everyone is doing - I am a technical minded person and if thats going to disadvantage me...
