    acidic env. multiple choice

Yeah this- its defs A. Write out the equation stoichometry between the NaOH base and the four acids and look at the relative moles of acid required and then you'll notice that citric (by virtue of being triprotic), requires three times the moles (and hence volume) of NaOH as HCl etc.

    another simple maths question.

    Assuming the equation was equal to zero. Let u=3^x -> Therefore u^2-4u+3=0 (u-1)(u-3)=0 u=3, u=1 3^x=1,3 x=0 or x=1

Few chem questions: 1. For the decarbonating soda water prac- why do we add salt? 2. Why does shaking a bottle of coke cause it to decarbonate faster?

    1. No- its automatic 2. You look at the specific double degree- for example for comm/eng, you can get points for maths and physics- the bonus points of its constituent degrees are irrelevant I think

    Really shit at Prob/perms/combs

    1. Group women together. Arrange everyone around the table (3 men and 1 superwoman) -> 3! 2. Arrange women- 4! 3. Total arrangements- 6! 4. Therefore probability= (4!3!/6!) I don't think you need to fix the man etc

    Probability Question

The method that instantly jumps out at me is find the complementary event and subtract from 1. From part i), you worked out the chance of matching both numbers. Now find the chance that it will match one of your numbers. Add these two and subtract from 1 and there's your answer.

We did similar tasks. Belonging was unseen text for listening- so 15 marks of short answer based off the listening. Mod A was a text extract from Frank and a visual stimulus from BR and we had an essay question for that- the idea was to use the stimuli as a springboard for our discussion so it...

how hard is it to get above 90 scaled assessment mark for phys chem and eco?

Yeah I know this- that's why I never referenced school ranks anywhere in my post. All I'm trying to say is that if you are at a school that is academically stronger (e.g. a selective school) and their marks in the HSC are higher, then a lower school rank will still give a good assessment mark...

Haha that's alright- were you happy with the mark because that's the main thing. And Techies, how did you go in english today? Butcher was telling me the short answers were ridiculously hard?

how hard is it to get above 90 scaled assessment mark for phys chem and eco?

Lol it depends on how good your school is. Like at my school, around rank 20th/80 for chem will get a 90 assessment. At other schools, no one will get a B6 at all so there will be no one on a 90 assessment mark. What is your school rank and your rank in those subjects at your school?

    Now till HSC

    1. Now maybe 3 hours a day- I'll probs pick it up over coming weeks. Idk, as long as it takes me to get everything done that I want to do. 2. Spread time around fairly evenly- a bit more time on english than anything else and less on maths 3. Yep- go over other people's notes/textbooks. Maybe...

    change of school <2>

The only thing you should be careful of if you stay is becoming complacent- just because you are topping a comprehensive school does not mean that you can compete with the best in the state (you might be able to- you just can't tell simply from school results). In year 12, if you do decide to...

    estimate my exam mark

Note that 85 in chem is actually a pretty hard mark to get- HSC is marked very harshly

    Math help

Re: Math help (Because Carrot made me do this) Or cheat- pick a very big number on your calc (like 10^30) and sub it in- you'll get one so the curve approaches one as x approaches infinity (yes this is not rigorous but it'll defs work for your questions)
