Trial HSC - stressed or not?

I know right. Tbh though, it was very anticlimactic. I feel exactly the same now as I did waking up this morning.

relationship between reactivity and cell voltage

Lol- do you go to Sydney Tech? Either that or our school thieved the question from a common source because we had that exact question. Ok, the way you do it: - Note that the standard reduction tables thingo correlates quite closely with the activity series - The higher on the table (like...

    Old mx2 papers

I've seen books that have worked solutions from 95 and I think Coroneus has one that goes back to 91 but I'm not fully sure.

Quick question regarding the hsc markers

Why does everyone consider this some secret formula? Someone at school asked me this as well. If you can differentiate properly, you can do things like that in your head without special 'formulas'

    Questionable multiple choice

I just used BOGS to simplify where I was coming from. From a theoretical viewpoint, the financial account surplus is derived from the current account deficit (maybe not in Australia but as a general rule it it). Just looked up Riley's textbook and he says "The tendency for countries with...

How much affect do externals have on my ATAR

Are you talking about a moderated assessment mark of 80? If so, and you get 98 say in the externals, your HSC mark will be (80+98)/2=89 -> which won't be a state rank but you'll have a state rank equivalent external. But honestly, if you're getting 80 at school, there is no way you are somehow...

    Questionable multiple choice

First one is A. Look at just BOGS for example. A BOGS deficit implies that we are importing more (supplying more dollars) than we are exporting (demand for dollars). Thus the currency will depreciate. Australia's situation is slightly different but generally it is accepted internationally that a...

Help me with a multiple choice question

Alternatively, you could note that savings must equal investment and therefore: 0.2Y-100 (savings function)=40 0.2Y=140 Y=700

    - Define a bufffer - Explain what it does - Give an example of a natural system (such as seawater) - Write the equilibrium equation for this buffer, identifying the acid and base (depending on which one is conjugate etc.) - Show that with an introduction of more H+, equilbrium shifts the other...

    State ranks?

I think with 3U, with ties they look at performance in other maths subs (4U) which prevents ties. You're probably right with the 4U :)

    State ranks?

3U is definitely full marks and 4U I think is a bit higher (maybe 114/115) depending on the difficulty of the test.

    Factorise please

    (a) (a^2+2b^2)(3-a-b) -> Factorise common terms (b) (a+b)^2((a+b)^2+(a-b)^2)= 2(a+b)^2(a^2+b^2) -> Factorise common terms and simplfiy (c) (x+y)(x^2-y^2)=(x+y)^2(x-y) -> Factorise commmon terms and then difference of two squares

    Question missing in trial exam....

Yeah there's nothing really wrong with this because everyone was in the same boat. Assuming you were fast, you'd have started the essay by this point so you finish the first essay, then do the short answer and then the other essay. Though how didn't you guys notice in reading time?
