    Easy G.P question=help?

Of course. The only thing different about both formulas is that you multiply through by -1. Since though you multiply the denominator and the numerator by the same thing, you aren't changing the value of the fraction. Some people like using one or the other depending on the size of the number...

Query on doing past paper questions

I agree with Carrotsticks here. I find doing past papers even open book without time limits is very helpful. For example, when we did titration in chem in class I didn't really get it and the textbook wasn't that helpful. There was however an 8 mark past HSC question on titration that basically...

    Easy G.P question=help?

Yeah, your interpretation is right. What I did though was since the first five terms sum to 77 and the next 5 sum to -2464, the first 10 sum to -2387 by adding them together.

    Easy G.P question=help?

Whoops, sorry Carrot... Would you recommend doing it using that formula or the way I did it by combining the first 10 terms together and then staring from the first term?

Cambridge 3U - Chapter 3 Simple Hyperbola question

I'll give an example, just wait for me to type it up... <a href="http://www.codecogs.com/eqnedit.php?latex=f(x)=\frac{x-4}{x@plus;2}\\ f(x)= \frac{\frac{x}{x}-\frac{4}{x}}{\frac{x}{x}@plus;\frac{2}{x}}\\\\ \textup{On dividing everything through by x}\\...

Cambridge 3U - Chapter 3 Simple Hyperbola question

First off, you want to graph y=(x-4)/(x+2). There are a few ways to do this. Personally, I would realise that there is no value at x=-2 because the denominator becomes zero. At this point approaching from the negative side, y approaches infinity and approaching from the positive side, y...

    ATAR Estimate for Friend

I think the question was more along the lines of what defines a low ranking school- roughly what school rank means that it becomes harder to predict ATAR's accurately. I don't know the answer though sorry.

Noob question- How to balance this equation?

You have two times as many oxygens as you need on the LHS. Type up your working so we can see exactly where you made the mistake- remember to balance the oxygen last because its by itself.

    Selective vs normal school?

Of course. Another reason why all the high ATAR's are concentrated at selective schools is that all the top students go to schools like Ruse. Its not impossible for someone from a small comprehensive school to get 99.95, its just unlikely because if they were that good, they'd probably be at a...

    Selective vs normal school?

Not in terms of marks because if you go to a lower ranked school, it is much easier to rank first etc. The system is designed to give the same student the same mark regardless of where you go. The advantage of selective schools though is the atmosphere. Everyone is more serious so you have...

Assessment marks and Final exam marks

How many people got E4 last year at your school? I'm not good at estimating but you might get something in the 80's as an assessment mark, which will be averaged with a 95 exam to give you a mark in the high 80's. You know though that a 95 exam mark is very good and to get a mark like that, I...

Should assassination be a legitimate foreign policy tool?

Consider though if we think it is alright to assasinate some foreigner, what would stop nations such as Iraq assasinating someone like Barack Obama? Right now, they wouldn't really want to do it because even though they are already at war, if the government was linked to such an attack, it would...

Assessment marks and Final exam marks

Wait sorry, I don't get the question. Is this right: Currently you are ranked 4/8 in MX2 at a school ranked 130th and you want us to guess what HSC mark you'll get? If so, what role does the 95% have?
