Yes, the hormones are ADH and Aldosterone. For 5 marks, you had to describe how they are used, and when they are needed.

    Band 6 cutoff?

Yeah, true. The top 3 or 4 people at my school (including myself, heh /end brag), thought it was straight forward. The rest thought it was difficult. Using this data, you could say that probably at least half of the state found it hard...so say 8000 people. Then there'd be those who thought it...

Because if you say, the temp of the organism is less than the cage - how can you conclude that it's an endotherm over an ectotherm?

I thought we agreed it was D? Well I can't see how it'd be C.

Thanks those who posted the questions. :) I got 14/15, silly mistake in the pedigree diagram. *Sigh*

Same! It was D. When the temp of the cage heats, the body temp heats in the animal!

    General Thoughts - Biology

Re: how did you go? Crappppppppp. I made an experiment using 6 beakers. 2 beakers had no additive, two beakers had the new chemical, and a third had another chemical that's proven to be effective against the pathogen. I then described how to do it that way... Argh, I forgot all about the agar...

Re: how did you go? One was the sieve cell - what was the further away thing? I didn't get that...I also think, two features, for 1 mark? Maybe they'll give 1 mark if you get 1/2 correct...as they can't give half marks!

The last question - I put the person 1 was a carrier, person two(the female was not affected, and person three was a carrier. I said this because it was sex linked, and the son's of the parents, some of them had it. So wasn't that B?

    I love BoS this year!

Which Bio option did you do for 2008?

Communication! The insect 6 marker was a little evil, however I wrote 3 pages on it, heh. Wrote an experiment, and said that information that is gathered, should be from a number of sources, and its reliability can be obtained from the collective answers from all of these sources. The rest of...

    General Thoughts - Biology

Re: how did you go? Yes, a limitation is the inability to distinguish between frequencies, thus they are set at a frequency that suits them. So I discussed methods that could be developed that allow the implant to change its frequency independently depening on the external environment(ie...

    I love BoS this year!

That paper was the best I've seen since 2001. The questions were all straight forward, and I think it's actually possible for me to get 100% O_O (I came first in my school, so that's always nice). We are so lucky this year - all my papers have been easy(well, easy if you study for them. :P)

    nexttttt

I'm thinking there might be a bit on B and T cells, as well as the structure of nerves and neurons...just hasn't been asked TOO much lately. The last two years in Communication, there's been questions on the brain...so I think this year the experiment will be the Oscilloscope/amplifier? Just my...

    Clarification.

Thanks for the explanation. So, say if a question asked, "Where is speech controlled?" Would an answer of, "The parietal lobe in the Cerebrum be correct? If it asked, "Where is hearing controlled?" Is it the Temporal lobe? If I was asked for sight, would I be correct saying it occurs in the...

    Clarification.

Hmm. So, "The cerebrum makes up about 85 per cent of the weight of the human brain.", sounds a little more than just the front? Well, basically, we can talk about the Cerebrum, the cerebellum, and the medulla - just the Cebrum(Most of the brain), medulla(part at the base of the...
