posibility? UWS: B design (visual comm)- UTS: B design (visual comm) O_o

The nature of this course means it's has a different admission system (i.e. 70% statement). All design courses have a similar admission system but all other courses like Business is the usual half UAI half GPA. The lectueres want to see people who are serious about doing the course in that...

Are Science related UAI cut offs this year gonna be higher?

Just hope and wait - there's only a week left from tommorow until the "big day".

posibility? UWS: B design (visual comm)- UTS: B design (visual comm) O_o

I don't personally believe a Distinction is necessary but obviously it does make you more competitive. From a UTS point of view, the administration who handle the transfer applications said that you need a Credit Average. I thought you knew already Calla? If you look into more detail of...

what happens if you change your preferences after the 4th of jan? (2day)

You'll be doing yourself and another person a favour by accepting an offer straight away.

posibility? UWS: B design (visual comm)- UTS: B design (visual comm) O_o

A Distinction average is not required for Visual Communication but it would certainly help. I'll be honest in saying that you won't make it for UTS but you will at UWS. Visual Communication is different to all other courses because it's not just how well you do academically. You need to show you...

what happens if you change your preferences after the 4th of jan? (2day)

Well isn't it like the window is open until you have made a decision? I mean I haven't seen the actual process but I am assuming if you don't accept your first offer, you leave it and you decide to wait and accept your second offer, you just reject your first one...

    Uni rankings in AUS

Well obviously you do in some cases. Rather than looking at a university, most people choose which university in terms of what that place can give the most of their degree. "Pretigious" universities like USYD or UNSW or more favourable or more chosen because some of their programmes...

    hecs or domestic fee paying?

I don't think there is a personal preference whether you choose CSP or DFE. If you are eligible for CSP and you get an offer, you get CSP because CSP places have to be filled first. These spots are allocated and then they look at DFE applicants. It's more of the fact that they give students the...

    hecs or domestic fee paying?

I'll reply to this even though it's a bit old. If you haven't already, include the DFE because if you make DFE, you can apply to go back to CSP after a year of study.

    Main Round Offer Confusion

Because it was your first preference and you were given an offer, you won't be considered your other preferences. Unless you change your preferences and in this case, in the Late Round only. It's best to accept your offer because don't count on waiting to see if another one pops up.

    Masters degree in Illustration...

In Sydney, the major universities offer a MA degree in Visual Communication, Design and Multimedia. There isn't a degree which specifically focuses on Illustration but you would most likely be able to choose to do the subject. The important thing is to find the environment you feel most...

    University Offers.

Just don't let the opportunity slip by so if an offer is given, accept it.

    Preliminary Round

If you have not received an offer yet, you will most likely receive notification next Wednesday which is the day Main Round offer letters are sent.

    opinions on repeating yr12

Tons of exams but look at how much time you get at university to go over your work? Your not at university Monday to Friday so I'll rather do uni exams than the school's. It's a reminder than you have done well at school but 5-10 years down the track, are you still going to remind people you...

Which uni is the best for Graphic Design?

Visual Communication in my view is still seen as a technical job in Australia and it's disheartening when you consider the culture in Europe and American embrace Graphic Design. It's really dissapointing when only UTS offer a specialised course in this field and UNSW and USYD don't. UNSW is...

    opinions on repeating yr12

It's hard to decide to repeat Year 12 because everyone else in the form has not even experienced what university is like. I knew two friends who repeated Year 12 but they had to be more determined to make it. I think if you repeat Year 12 it is much harder than university. The reason being is...

B business B computing or BBA with BIT?

I have been to a few lectures of a friend of mine who is currently studying B. Business B. Computing at UTS. From what I can see, the Macquarie course is focusing I.T in terms of Business. Where as, UTS you are learning an equal side of both Business and I.T. This means you learn about Sales...

    multimedia & web design

Digital Media pushes how you use website and multimedia. The things you will be doing are short videos/animations that have a story and you develop a storyboard. Your learning website design and development to create something, not just learning programming on its own. If your just thinking of...

    Grade point averages

Ok, well I admit I took it wrong - if he/she is deciding for a transfer that's what I meant in terms of needing the GPA.

    Grade point averages

My advice have been perfectly fine - his question was how do grade point averages work. I just mentioned how they are even in terms of UAI. "For an example you need a 5.5 grade point average at some universities to do honours." He/she didn't say that was her situation otherwise I wouldn't have...
