    Unsure about DFEE place

Yeah, I applied for both in on time - just that when I applied for DFEE, I made it on time for the Main Round date but I didn't for my course's earlier special closing date. Hopefully they will still consider me because my CSP counts.

    Unsure about DFEE place

The course that I applied to transfer into this year had a special closing date. I entered the CSP one before it. However, I didn't think about the DFEE course and I entered the DFEE into my preferences anyway, after the closing date but before the Main Round date. Will I be still be...

    UAI cutoff worries

Hey Stazi, as I was going through old threads, I noticed someone post what they achieved individually in their first semester. Do the university you are applying for look at your individuals results for first and second semester or they just want to see your overall GPA and that's all they want...

Who looks over the selection process?

Well there is two days left (three if you are waiting for the letter), I might as well ask this. Who actually sits down and go through the selection process? Lecturers themselves of a Faculty, people higher in the Faculty or the admin people? The only thing I remember was that it also has to...

    Main round offers at 9pm

You can accept your first preference and un-enrol it after if it turns out you get another offer. You need to change your preferences if you want to be considered after main round. Even though there will be courses with a V (meaning vacancies), and even though your second course is DFEE, there...

    Main round offers

The results are printed in the newspapers the morning after when the offer letters arrive also. Yeah, try not to think about it too much because it just makes your mind more stressful. I'm fairly confident and nervous, just have to wait. Just like waiting to hear if you got the job or not. I'm...

    '06 Transfer Candidates Post Here

All the best Stazi, I was reading older threads and saw you didn't quite make it last time.

    UAI cutoff worries

No, not specifically but I took at look at what you said - funny enough the B Eco is like my example. You can apply for DFEE and the cut-off is 80.00? Is there a high demand for B. Eco at UNSW? I assume so...

    'i Change My Mind'

That's where some people can get caught out. If you accept a course in the Main Round, that does not mean you can't still be eligible for another in the later rounds. You need to change your preferences if you were accepted for your first preference.

    UAI cutoff worries

I would like to ask a general question if that is ok; I can only assume but for example, if a course (established and consistent) had a UAI in the low 90's in 2005 and then its UAI cut-off dropped down considerably to say 85 last year, does it mean less demand or more places were offered?

    UAC scale uni marks?

The better your average you have, the better prospects you will see. I mean when I graduate, I want to achieve first class honours.

    First round offers

The schools don't feel obliged to have to do so like I remember two years ago, the careers advisor handed those UAC books and he told us to read them and look through and that was really it. Having to worry about this UAC stuff and the final exams... bleh.

posibility? UWS: B design (visual comm)- UTS: B design (visual comm) O_o

It's difficult and the facts like to speak for themselves but what separates us is choice. For most people who choose Design, it's not necessarily about the reality of what's going to happen. If you still maintain or desire some sort of geninue interest, then everything else will work out and...

    First round offers

In the main round, if you are given an offer for a preference you chose, that's it - they don't consider your other preferences. Preferences aren't like a free for all, remember that what you chose as first is the one you really want to do and if you don't get that, you go in the next one if...

    Transfer Q's

Credit Average is enough and especially if you apply for something like Bsc I.T / Professional Practice, the course isn't in very high demand. Plus that with a personal statement and your good to go.

posibility? UWS: B design (visual comm)- UTS: B design (visual comm) O_o

Ha, what you just said answered your own question. The main thing is don't look at the interview like they want to bite your head off. The interview is for you to show who you are and your work. It goes for about 20 minutes. The things you copied from DIA is the reality of design - if you...

posibility? UWS: B design (visual comm)- UTS: B design (visual comm) O_o

The interview seems to be more of a get to know you better interview. The interview was not as serious where it was assessed but they just asked about your work, the process you took. It's to I guess, give evidence to supporting your statement.

posibility? UWS: B design (visual comm)- UTS: B design (visual comm) O_o

I felt that in 2006, the course dropped in terms of UAI because not many people chose it but it does not in anyway indicate the course is bad, no no that's the wrong way to look at it. Again, it's the nature of the course and I am sure UTS will see who is serious enough to want admission.

posibility? UWS: B design (visual comm)- UTS: B design (visual comm) O_o

The thing with private colleges is that they provide a technical education. If your technical abilities are not good enough than you won't be competitive enough in the industry. I am not going to into it too much but the reason for studying Design at university is to appreciate and understand...
