If you want huge bucks but a crappy lifestyle then IB is the way. If you want big bucks and a bludgy lifestyle ACST is the way. If you wanted to be an IB in the first place... then why are you doing ACST!

Bah.. all these explanations of different types of maths. Actuarial isn't so much math. Its more statistics and financial maths. Its not liks HS statisics either. If you are quantitatively minded then you won't like this course basically.

No you don't get told you're rank UNLESS you make it to the Merit List.. where they list the top ten or something. You get told you're rank if you come first coz normally it comes with a nice cheque.

It doesn't matter what degree you combine with. Just a few extra skills MAY be useful. What matters is if you are fully qualified or not. It doesn't matter how you get there though....

any experience is a big factor anywhere. if you have a chance to get experience dont' hesitate to do it. stat271 and 272 are very different subjects. 272 is more mathematical and more logical. 271 is so much bs and hypothesis testing - rather tedious. i disliked 271 - the final was very hard...

acst200 is much harder than stat272 to be honest. acst200 questions are a lot trickier and require much more thought. stat272 ones aren't as bad in general. i'd spend more time on 200 than 272 myself.

Alternatively, go to student enquiry service and ask them to print out an unofficial transcript for you. The unofficial transcript has your HSC marks and UAI score on it as well as any awards you have received at uni. The official transcript does not have these details.

M commerce is harder to get thats why its preferred. If you do a single degree and do honours... honours is just 4ht year the control cycle and you get Part II from that. I asked my boss today what is a good double degree to get. She said it doesn't matter much coz once you're in you're in...

I was going for medicine. I phucked that up. Went for vet... got in + scholarship and everything (5k a year... nice scholarship @ syd ^^) but then everyone's like vet's are drop kicks... no job opportunities and have crappy lives... so into acst I go.

Unless someone wants to scan the book in then noone will have the lectures for you sorry =P The best advice is... if you are an Actuarial then you have to do it so don't complain heh... if you aren't an Actuarial then don't bother... if you are interested and like this sort of stuff and you...

Accounting should be sufficient. But its not about qualifications. You have to have a major interest in it and be very knowledgeable about the current market. It is hard to get a good job in I banking.
