I'm service and I only was trained on WoWPoS (checkouts)? I wasn't taught how to do anything else, apart from use the box crusher.

Ah, so that's why my store manager goes. "Ah, service huh. So you'll be doing grocery." I'm thinking ?? lol

Do other stores within Woolworths (Dick Smith, etc) use WoWPoS? I live in a cave so I wouldn't know..

It's ok, I went in just then and checked. It says "Not Available" for every day. I'm not worried though, the other new guy's listening also says that for every day. Is it normal to not give shifts to newb's for the first week in?

Mmm I did just before I posted (at like 4:00pm). Dept Manager had gone home for the day. :( I might just pop in tonight and check the roster myself, but cbf getting there! Who wants to drive? :D

Haven't been called letting me know of my second shift :x I was told (on my first), that I would be called informing me of my next shift! I bet I'll get a call going "where are you???"

Yeah and you're then stuck with a stupid basket at your feet which you sometimes almost trip over and kill yourself on. Gotta wait till someone comes and gets it because you are so busy lol. Unless you want it gone bad then call somebody I suppose.

Inductions means you have the job. They pay you for the induction, and hence why they need your TFN. They aint gunna do that if you don't have the job!

You gotta turn the belt off though, cause as soon as the basket moves the belt will start moving and the next persons stuff is right there, and there is no room whatsoever then lol

Nobody answered my question? And yes, I'm in Vic, hence bein able to sell them at registers. So I save the transaction, ding the bell, get the supervisor to grab them, scan the barcode, process transaction? Or depending how quick they are, dont save the transaction?

So what's the go with getting cigarettes whilst at a non S/S checkout? You can't secure the register whilst a transaction is in progress, and you can't leave your checkout unattended if not secured. Do you call somebody to get them for you? Seems to be the only thing you can do. I will ask next...

Had a breif look at a roster on my first shift yesterday. Wow it looks so rediculously complicated, it's not funny. I didn't have a god look at it, but it just looks horrible to read from!
