student teachers at the most inappropriate times

we had a student teacher for HSC biology. no one in our entire class knows anything about the syllabus points she 'taught'. consider yourself lucky that it's just prelim, not your HSC.

How did your HSC Speaking Exam go?

Haha, I wish I got your questions. Our teacher wanted us to prepare for a book and movie, so I would have been okay with that type of question... I had an entire rant prepared and everything. Now I keep having these terrible 'in retrospect' moments, where I realise what stupid mistakes I've...

How did your HSC Speaking Exam go?

Mine was at Smith's Hill, since I'm not a Sydney sider. One of the guys at our exam centre turned up without his letter from the BoS. Apparently his mum had thrown it out :/ That would have been so nerve-wracking, as if exams aren't bad enough already. What questions did you get asked? The...

How did your HSC Speaking Exam go?

I'm so freaking glad it's over, since I'm the type of person who stresses for weeks before these things... the questions I prepared for were alright, obviously, and I managed to slip in a couple of segues - i.e. from family to music, so I got to say a lot of what I wanted. But a couple were very...

Take a guess at what you got for each section of the trials.

AOS RT: 11/15. they screwed me over by not telling us they would collect this first, so i had less time and pretty much had a panic attack. CW: 11/15. a letter, wtf? also, i had major writers block for about three weeks beforehand... Essay: 12/15. didn't count, thank god. if it did, my...

Should eng. be a manditory subject?

um, except from the fact that it destroys all your credibility when you're arguing that English isn't necessary, no one

Anyone with 12 units going to tank a subject?

 people like you suck. one of the people in my italian class is doing exactly this. she constantly gets 50% but won't drop it even though it's her worst unit, so my mark will get dragged down severely by her. so my best unit will end up being average. grrr.

    Trials Thoughts/Results

Re: Trials Thoughts xD - my overall rank for english is now 3rd, not 4th - in bio i got an extra %, overall rank now 3rd - stupid business, screwing up my objective of getting >75% in everything. got 69%, came 3rd in the year for the test, around 4th/5th overall i think.

Should eng. be a manditory subject?

Yes. Threadstarter clearly needs to do English, as this is yet another thread complaining about the subject while spelling semi-difficult words incorrectly in the title.

So Who Is Telling The Truth???!

they're not expecting us to make a judgement decision on the relationship between two people we've never met, so i wouldn't worry about incorporating it into an essay... i.e. how composers position us to believe their version of the truth. p.s. trying to find uncommon related texts for this...

    What are you currently Reading?

just finished The Picture of Dorian Gray. I was expecting Dorian to redeem himself somehow, become a different person... how wrong I was.

    Trials Thoughts/Results

Re: Trials Thoughts xD advanced english - 76%. quite happy, considering i had no idea for the creative writing and was completely stuck. not sure of my rank, but i think i'll retain my 4th... biology - 88%. everything i studied came up in the multiple choice not short answer. but i managed...

    Euthanasia

I was referring to the part where you said that you're against using euthanasia to end their pain. Isn't everything God's will basically, so it God's will for them to die?

    Euthanasia

Don't you think nursing homes already try to give patients the best treatment they can? Could it perhaps be possible that some people have conditions that have degenerated so far that they feel death is the better option? It is going to come sooner or later, why not spare people the pain...

    Euthanasia

Yeah, I've seen her bible-bashing in the abortion thread. Actually, that gives me an idea.... Emtaylor: Doesn't God choose when people die? If so, then isn't it really 'God's will' or whatever? Also, as for pallative care... my mum works in a nursing home so I hear a lot of stories which...

    Trials Thoughts/Results

Re: Trials Thoughts xD gah, just had my bio exam. felt confident before going in, then EVERYTHING i studied in depth turned up in the multiple choice. the stuff i glanced over was in the short answer. and it was our last assessment task for bio too, so unless everyone else went really shit i'll...

What are your cumulative/rankings so far and what is your aim by the end of the year?

we haven't done our trials yet, but our last assessment (after i posted this) in biology knocked me down to equal sixth :( our trial is the last assessment. hopefully i can get back to at least 4th or something, luckily tests are usually a strong point for me. for the other subjects, we...
