Yea i got that. But I think, you missed a line of working. It should be 33750s^-1 + (750(125/2+s/250). I think...

The cost of operating a truck on a highway is made up of running costs plus the driver's wage. The running costs are (0.25 + s/250) dollars per kilometre where S is the speed of the truck in km/h and the truck dirver's wage is $45 per hour. At what speed should the driver travel to make a 750...

    Simultaneous Parabola

um, no calculus is involved i think. Cause its under quadratic function. + I dont think (1,3) is actually on the parabola. BTW: The above is right 90%. But i dont get it...

    Equations Reducible to Quadratics

Perhaps trig subs is far beyond me. Under which general topic is that under? O I see. It was in the Cambridge book, under the heading of Equations reducible to quadratics. THus I assumed subsitution was need. THanks for advice Jetblack and gurmies.

    Trigenometric equation.

    2.3 tan(x)-2 cot(x)+3 sec(x) = 0 3(sinx/cosx) - 2(cosx/sinx) + 3/cosx = 0 3sin^2x - 2(cos^2x) + 3sinx = 0 simplify: 5sin^2x+3sinx-2 =0 etc... solve

    Trigenometric equation.

    1.5sin^2(x) -4sin(x) cos(x)+3cos^2(x) = 2 Divide everything by cos^2 or sin^2 5tan^2x-4tan^2x+3 = 2sec^2 5tan^2x-4tan^2x+3 = 2tan^2x+2 3tan^2x-4tanx+1=0 tanx = 1/3 or 1 x = 18degree 26 min, or 45 degree

    My teacher hates me.

Obviously she has treated you unfairly and is very inappropriate conduct. So rage, rage, against her. Perhaps threaten to sue her and report her to DOE if she dosent give you good marks from now on. Use this to your advantage! Blackmail has its purposes in society!

    Maxima And Minima

One more question. INteressted in how you guys would set it out. Find the largest rectangle that can be inscribed in the region bounded by the parabola with equation y = 4-x^2 and the x-axis. This is done purely using differenttiation.

    Maxima And Minima

consider the c(x) as d(v/40 + 10v^-1) through expanding and then differentiate. Btw: its tricky cause there is two variable, i.e. d and v, but d can be considered as a constant.
