ATAR estimate - ranks, exams, overall ATAR

Aligning: English-92 Eco-92 Maths-96 Legal-93 Modern-91 But just remember that HSC marking schemes are extremely picky, so kids generally overestimate their raws by not compensating for these marking schemes. Overall ATAR: 97

    Hardest 4U Topic

I guess the one positive to come out of MC is that there will be more questions that mix topics like this years due to the reduced amount of free response questions, which will hopefully see the results of the rote learners drop off significantly. Maths shouldn't be a topic you are able to rote...

Quick Geometrical Application of Calculus Question?

True, so the dimensions on the printing area would be (\sqrt{500}-5)$ by $(\frac{300}{ \sqrt{500} }-3 )

    Should English be compulsory??

This is true, but I struggle to see how HSC english does anything to develop these skills. These skills are learned from years 7-10, and HSC english does nothing to build on them. I believe that english should be compulsory, but the current course should be scrapped for a course that focuses...

    Hardest 4U Topic

It's really only inequalities and the different induction type questions that need to be taught. All the other stuff is 3U content, but asked in a 4U way.

You better pray you get a good ATAR then haha. I might rock Absinthe. Make things interesting haha.

    Atar bingo.

For every ATAR point away from a perfect ATAR you are, you have to do a shot eg. If your ATAR is 95, you have to do 5 shots. This is the main reason why I'm keen to get my ATAR back. Fuck uni hahahaha

    Atar bingo.

I'll go 95.45. Also on the topic of HSC games, who's keen for the ATAR drinking game?

What is everyone up to at school?

Hmmm very accurate percentages right there haha. For me, probably 35% on 4U, 15% on 3U, 25% on chem, 22% on physics and 3% on english. Yeah, I hate english with a passion :)

What is everyone up to at school?

I thought my teacher was rushing through the work too fast, but we only finished the course with 2 weeks to spare. That's how the 4U course works. It's up to the student to keep up with the work, which is why so many find 4U so difficult.

    Biopolymer Help!

I stuffed up the polyethylene part. I wrote about how it's obtained from cellulose rather than petrochemicals. Dem stupid exam errors :( And I just wrote that lactic acid can just undergo condensation polymerisation to form PLA. I think it was an extremely unfair question because I don't think...

    Biopolymer Help!

I did this dot point in an assignment as well, and my advice is to do the biopolymer that you will be using for your HSC exam. The point of this assignment is to make you research a biopolymer for you to use in the HSC. The assessment would be useless if you did one biopolymer for this...

    Biopolymer Help!

I did poly-lactic acid, and found that quite easy. Theres plenty of stuff out there about it. Also, just reading over the dot point, it doesn't really ask us to know how the biopolymer is produced, which is what we got asked about this year. Anyone else have a view on this?
