I would say 11 to 12 units is the BEST IMO. It's "safer" :p
Unless you are really confident with 10....

For me personally, 10 is best. I think it all depends on the person, their time management, skills and work ethic.

I think 10, but 12 if you're really in need of backup. With 10, you get more time to work on your subjets and perfect them, and it's also a kind of kick in the pants that you need to go well in all of them.

11 is best imo. its not too much time wise whilst giving you some form of back up. free periods are a bonus =D

I personally think anyone doing 14+ units is insane.
I'm thinking 12 would be best, leaves room to screw up a subject or two.
but 10 if you're really super-confident =\

My teacher did 16 units in her HSC. Absolute nut.

I'm doing 12. 5 normals + 2 Extensions. It is good.

Go for 12.

If I can handle it, 12 units, otherwise it'll be 11 :)

I do only 10, haven't stuffed up anything massively.. so thank god
but there's the constant pressure of performing well in each and every assessment task of each and every subject.. if you're not one who performs well under the slightest of pressure - 10 units is not for you.

If you need 12 units because you are scared of failing one a subject then you really shouldn't be doing the HSC.
The only reason you would do 12+ units is if you have a genuine interest in everything and didn't want to drop it because you enjoyed it so much.

accelerate some units ;]
i personally reckon 11-12 is best though. but that's just me, i get stressed very easily so 10 units would kill me. and i don't think the work load of 12 units is all that bad, it's pretty manageable.
