Justin thinks Lynn should meet up with his friend, Fahed, who is an absolute nut about Charmed.

Justin doesn't like any crime fiction that include nosy old women who think everyone else's business is their own. Damn you Ms Marple, damn you that red headed woman on TV1.

Lynn agrees that American crime shows are probably stolen off the British but American ones are just so colourful and exciting and appeal to Lynn.

Lynn remembers loving "Murder She Wrote", even though it aired many, many years ago. It was one of Lynn's favourites.

Justin wonders if Murder She Wrote was the one with the red headed woman. Justin hates her.

Justin hopes Katie enjoys herself on her trip, and bids her farewell. He states that if he doesn't talk to her between now and then, that she should drive safely (if she is driving), etc etc.

Hmm, Lynn is not sure but Lynn thinks that protagonist was a rather clever oldish lady with white/grey hair. The name "Agatha Cristie" is coming up, although Lynn is not sure whether that was her name in the series or in another film/series.

Meh, Justin doesn't know. He just dislikes nosey old women.

Lynn is amused. Lynn is also contemplating going back to bed... *yawn* Lynn did not get much sleep last night thanks to heat, and now, thanks to heat, Lynn is feeling very drowsy.

Justin says that if Lynn is tired, then she should sleep. Justin is about to go and read some more of Stephen King's Cujo and will be back later.

Lynn bids Justin happy reading. *salute*

EDIT: Lynn would just like to let everyone know that she just drove up to the local library and spent *gasp* nearly an hour there checking out the relatively small fiction section, and has returned with seven rather fat books. Lynn's hands are shaking in excitement.

Among her seven books is a collection of short stories about birds (both real and mythical), which works quite well as background reading for one of Lynn's proposed half-fantasy storylines which involves birds.

With all this talk about writing, Lynn is feeling the peer pressure. :p

However Lynn is also finding that she is veering away slightly from her more-than-usual infatuation with historical drama/romance ("I want more than just a love story, dammit!"), and is rediscovering love of fantasy. Lynn also found "Black Thorn, White Rose - A Modern Book of Adult Fairy Tales", which sounds interesting, and reminds her slightly of "Burning Your Boats" by Angela Carter. Lynn also found a "Warcraft" book she thinks her brother would like, and cannot believe that someone wrote a book based on "Warcraft" (the computer game, which Lynn has played, although she HATED playing Arthus and often used the cheats to avoid killing the good people, as Lynn really could not bring herself to find enjoyment in such a thing). Lynn has also found "The Curse of Chalion" by this person who thanks "Pat Wrede" in his Acknowledgements. If this Pat Wrede is in actuality Patricia C Wrede, then Lynn is definately looking forward to it as Patricia C Wrede is one of her favourite authors. Lynn loved Dragonsbane, and still does, even though she read it about 9 years ago.

Lynn will stop rambling about books now, and will get to actually reading them!

As Marcus is viewing this thread, Lynn greets him and would like him to know that she just read a short story that reminded her of Marcus' short story. It was titled "A Question Of Faith" by Josepha Sherman, and had distinctly tribal undertones (much mentioning of Shaman and "Eagle Spirit People" and "Owl Spirit People").

Marcus notes that this story sounds interesting, but doesn't know how similar it is to his own. Marcus wonders how Lynn is. :)

"Warcraft" is only fun when you play as the Night Elves. :p
Lynn liked the Night Elves. She thought they were cool, and that the interesting tree doobies were even cooler.

The only reason Marcus ever played "Warcraft" was for the Night Elves. He loved that their structures were living beings - spirits of the earth.

Lynn thinks that it is not overly similar in style, but somewhat similar in theme. If Marcus ever comes across it (Lynn read it in "Flights of Fancy - Edited by Mercedes Lackey") then he should read it.

Lynn has spent a very hot day trying to keep somewhat cool, doing much reading and trying to placate her stomach which has decided to be temperamental again. Lynn is beginning to suspect that she either has a stomach bug or a recently flared-up intolerance to some food group or particular type of food.

Lynn sees herself eating plain food for some time. On the bright side, she enjoys cooking rice porridge as it allows her to read at the same time :p

Lynn can definately see Marcus loving the Night Elves.

EDIT: Lynn has just finished another "birdy" short story and it is about a talking parrot or College-level intelligence and attitude called "Red" that has just been freed and is about to leak state secrets to the press. Lynn is laughing.

Marcus likes how Lynn spent her day - reading and keeping cool. Marcus is glad that the rain has just begun. Marcus hopes that Lynn isn't getting sick and hopes that she feels better soon. Marcus, however, does not like rice porridge. He barely survived two weeks of it in China - it had no salt, no lemon, no recognisable flavour; and it looked like slop (Marcus hopes that he has not offended Lynn).
