The candidates for President, as far as I know, are Karoline Morwitzer (Socialist Alternative/Greens: Keep Left), Nicholas Wood (Labor: Action), Tom Watson (Liberals: Choice), and myself (Independent: Resolve). I'll amend this later if there are any changes.

Rose Jackson (NOLS) is running for the Undergraduate Representative for the Senate. Though personally, I will be supporting James Jansson, for even though his policies are vastly different to mine, I KNOW he is a capable representative who will do his best to represent students of all beliefs and backgrounds.

I should point out that public election campaigning of any kind is technically not allowed until Monday - so let's not tempt fate and get ourselves disqualified, okay?
It would seem to me that you've been campaigning on this forum since first semester;)

Hardly. I was merely telling people they should have voted for me Last year. I'm just giving them a second chance to.

He's incredibly intelligent, and he's got the best interests of students at hand. I thought he'd make an excellent SRC President, but I believe he'd make an even better Undergrad Senator.

In amendment to an earlier post, there are SIX candidates for SRC President, according to the official notice of candidates from the SRC Electoral Officer.

Andrew Quah, Independent (Resolve)
Spencer Harding, Labor Left (Aardvark)
Nick Wood, Labor Left (Action)
Karoline Morwitzer, Socialist/Greens (Keep Left)
Tom Watson, Liberals (Choice)
Nick Lockyer, Unknown (Aaaahaha I'm first on the ballot)

I will campaign to have the security bus run to more locations and runs all day.

If you can set up a train that goes around the uni campus (similar to the one at Darling Harbour), ensuring it runs according to timetable, then I will vote for you.

If you can ensure adequate allocation of resources with regards to the manning bar, I will vote for you twice.

They won't even give the Con a SINGLE security bus. Believe me, I've done my best to improve the security bus network uni-wide, but they can't realistically add additional services without a LOT more money.

That's why we need to find new sources of money.

Can't you run a positive campaign?
You seem to lack any policies on your site, apart from "those running the NUS, SRC are shit".

Oh and take off the sunnies and headband. Are you really trying to look '2kool4skool'?

"I do not believe in political donations and pointless rallies yet your money goes to fund these hypocrisies! "
Why don't you go put on a figure on how much it is. Or will that destroy your argument?

" I believe....freedom of association is a fundamental human right"
So your a champion of human rights now. Hahaha.....

If you try and hand me a flyer, I'll remind you how much of a dick you are :D

So far I've eliminated both withoutaface and Phanatical.

Generally you speak to the person who wrote that.

Tom Watson ≠ withoutaface so the comment about the headband and sunglasses while correct was pointless to be directed at him.

But I would like to see some figures, the only records I get for political donations from a search of "University" are the following:

1999/00 Democrats NSW Australian National University $2,000.00
2001/02 Labor NSW University of Sydney $2,750.00
2001/02 Liberal NSW University of Wollongong Sudent Union $1,600.00

Source: http://www.democracy4sale.org/

While it is probable that came from the SRC, it hasn't occured in the 2002/2003 or the 2003/2004 financial years. At least to a sum greater than 1500.

I don't know why our SRC has to be dominated by political factions. Do we really think politicians are looking out for Student interests?? They want access to the student budget so they can donate it back to the Party and secure themselves a nice little seat in Canberra. That's true of both Labor and the Liberals - and anybody who says otherwise is an idiot and/or a liar.

It pisses me off no end, that money is being diverted from students towards politics. Here's a message for our student reps: STOP DOING IT!

Good one tool, if you read up the thread you'll see I'm not even on that ticket. :)

(from Tom Watsons website)

''The National Union of Students is a blemish on all University Students: they are pollution to the average student fee-payer and a burden to anything remotely ordinary, normal, Australian and sane.''

How does he expect to gain votes by calling a large proportion of university students Unaustralian and insane? It seems so ridiculous and devisive. This guy is just an idiot.
