I honestly believe that the balance has gone the the other way. And in 20 years time, it will be blatantly obvious so that even the most crazed feminist can't claim she's less advantaged than a male. Just in Australia, boys can't get as high quality an education, so they are expected to join lower paid trades. 60% of university students are female, and 80% of the lowest paid third of the workforce are male. If they become a father, the family court will, over 90% of the time award custody to the mother, upon an assertion that a mother is a better parent than a father. I can go on, but I think you get the gist of my arguments.Sarah said:Alright men may face disadvantages in those areas you have highlighted. Both genders also face common disadvantages. However, I think in these areas mentioned above women face more disadvantages than males face.
Valarie Solanis, read alot about her. She was a total nut.Comrade nathan said:Do you know one of most extremist feminist was a prostitute. Show wrote the SCUM manifesto. She was still prostituting while being an activist. She is the lady who shot Danny Warhol, i forgot her name.
Then why aren't there scholarships for men to enter into a female dominated university :uhhuh:. I think scholarships like that are stupid anyway, because they assume that women and men are entirely equal and are interested in exactly the same thing.White Rabbit said:Thats because of the massive shortage though - there are scholarships for women studying male dominated degrees such as science, ag or IT. It's pretty well-balaned at Uni I'd say
You obviously don't understand 3rd wave feminism.I mean, take a look at pop culture. Women still define themselves by their attractiveness and ability to get a man. Objectification of women is still rife- it just takes a different form these days.
Are they doing the same ammount of work? Are they putting in the long hours? Just being "equally qualified" means nothing. In the corporate world women still get paid less even when they are equally qualified.
Yes but what about the guys in those situations that are the ones being shitted on?from the poor girl who latches on to some no hoper boy, gets knocked up and is set for a life of domestic assault, to the rich girl who gets married off as a trophy wife despite being university educated.
Do you think guys like working their arses off in some trade? They don't - they do it for money. It's just that other paths such as the trades are more traditionally followed by males- the only female equivalent of a trade is hairdressing.
That started from 'men get scholarships because there aren't enough men in the field' fucktard. And you'd find most scholarships for women in male dominated industries are not government funded but rather from the private sector, and the aim to make it easier for women to get into indutries in which, traditionally if you didn't have a penis you had no chnace - the Horse managment industry for example, have unoffical pre-recs of being a male.neo_o said:Then why aren't there scholarships for men to enter into a female dominated university :uhhuh:. Reliance is a choice not a given. The trophy wife chooses the easy way to finanical inpendence the poor girl generally has little education offered, although to assume they all end up the victim of domestic violence is a bit of a leap.from the poor girl who latches on to some no hoper boy, gets knocked up and is set for a life of domestic assault, to the rich girl who gets married off as a trophy wife despite being university educated.
Don't be ridiculus, the 'glass cealining' still exists, as does pay inequality. Are they doing the same ammount of work? Are they putting in the long hours? Just being "equally qualified" means nothing
there aren't any?neo_o said:Then why aren't there scholarships for men to enter into a female dominated university :uhhuh:. I think scholarships like that are stupid anyway, because they assume that women and men are entirely equal and are interested in exactly the same thing.
statistics please, we use really dated material in class so you may be right.Not-That-Bright said:no I think you'll find that more men are in the lower paid professions than women.
I asked you for statistics!Not-That-Bright said:Even your statistics obviously don't take into account that men (from what i've read) usually work longer hours than women and are more willing to do the 'dirty' jobs.
The worst job for women is nursing, I guess?
As nursing requires university education, I imagine it's more of a 'choice' than merely a job to make some money.
