in the SDA agreement it says the breaks for working more than 4 hrs should be ten minutes, but they are always fifteen. presumably that five minutes is "walking time", but we consider walking time to be extra.

WE don't get breaks for 4 hour shifts at woolworths. I;m guessing it's different to big W then ?

6 hours and we only get a 30 minute lunch break.

Ok Guys. I'm trying to get trained up in the meat deptartment to take another ladies spot.I really need to get trained up fast as I can tell that she wants to get off weekends.

What I'll be doing is. Putting meat on trays, running them through the machine/catching at the other side, pricing up the meats (This means knowing what ALL Meats are), taking the meat out to the shelves, helping customers with any questions they may have like "How do I cook this?", "How long do I cook it?", "What do you use in a stew?" and other questions like that. And I'll be doing this all by myself at 15 years of age.

Now, it may not seem like a lot, but there is soo many different types of meat to remember like all your beef, pork, lamb, mince, casseroles, etc. And there's also the matching the meat with the name.

There's a lot to remember, the only things I can positively identify without any help is Lamb Shanks, lamb forequarter chops, lamb mid loin chops. I sorta get stuck with the rump steak/ rump steak economy and blade steak, but mostly am good.

So basically, I am stuffed and need really need to now a good way to know the answers like "how to cook this meat" etc, how to identify off by heart the different meats.

So does anyone have any tips for like how to remember stuff better? How to identify stuff better? Know the answers to the questions like stated above? Maybe even a website? Anything that can help me, even if I'm at home would be greatly appreciated.

i used self serve with the new software today - what an absolute piece of rubbish that software is. it is so amateur looking and i struggle to see how it is an improvement on the old software. sure there might be drastic improvements on the bugs that plague the old software - but surely it could have been fixed without drastically changing the user interface... i found it much more confusing than the older software and harder to navigate.

ekul,

is it a different customer interface as well?, fuck that will just confuse the already stupid people who have only just started to work out what to do!

Harry,

Once again you have avoided the question.........where did you get people planner from? what was the URL?

(i know for a fact that people planner is not readily available on the net)

So your either full of shit or you got a disc copy but you need to be a service/HR specialist to have access to that so................ and im thinking the full of shit option seeing as you can't answer the question.

i've seen the release notes for v 9 of StoreLine

summary of changes:

-EDR/Staff Disc will now show up if it's registered or not
-ability to implement discounts for specific EDR Cards (rather than offers being open to everybody)
-addition of Gift Card menu to item lookup (not in use yet, but will be in the future)
-decomissioning of Ezy Banking
-Spot checks will now show up the cash total split by denomination, and this will print out on the spot check docket as well (FINALLY - been waiting like for this for forever)
-Previously, shelf tickets had something like this on them under the left of the barcode: 17P05 (which means that the ticket was printed on the 17th of May, due to a price increase) these 5 digits will now be changed to the last 5 digits of the barcode (thereby helping nightfillers, but pissing off systems operators)
-changes to unit pricing will now print off seperatley to Other Maintenance of tickets
-Woolworths Logo on Dockets
-Woolworths logo on customer display screen

i think thats all
