Re: Union Board Elections 2006 - UPDATED 26/4

Discounted petrol would be hard to negotiate. But I like the idea a lot, and I believe if we attach the Access card to an existing fuel benefits program (Beeep comes to mind), it could be relatively easily implemented. That said, the Vouchers system would cater to both drivers and non-drivers, in that instead of claiming points back for a $20 Myer voucher, we could claim it back for $20 at Caltex or something. That way we keep both drivers, and the Greens lobby who ride bicycles happy.

Everyone call it and ask for 'Steve', remarking that last night's threesome was awesome and that monkeys should be brought into the equation more often.

You know you want to.

I suppose thats why I am in liking of Tanners policies for stuff I can use off campus like discounted petrol/alcohol.
The Union has actually already set up an External Benefits program, where we will be able to use our Access card at certain places off campus. I'm not sure what these will be yet, but the program's being launched on the 22nd and 23rd of May, so you'll hear more about it soon.

Um, we weren't supposed to put the ballot paper in any envelope - well, I didn't this morning outside Fisher... did I?

Not sure, I voted without a student card, and the lady just put everything in the right envelope and told me to seal it.

It's not looking good is it. However, on the bright side:

I met Phanatical, he sure is fanatical. LOL!

I got in the "team photo" for Tom Kavanagh and Rose 'insert-last-name-here'.

Roz remembered who I was. Like, cool.

And for the record, the order of attractiveness of female candidates:

Rose
Roz
Monica
That Greens Bizzatch.

I'm glad to see you agree, because I strongly believe that the Union caters to one audience and one audience only - the politically active student community who lives, breathes and haunts the campus.

If I'm elected I will call an open forum for interested parties to present their views on the direction of the Union, and I would hope the Colleges are represented. The biggest problem facing the Union is the fact that they don't relate to students, and I'll do whatever I can to fix that.
8 Votes so far, and those are the 8 biggest mofos on campus...

Hilarious.

Who got in?

Also, i apologize for the post last night. Although my sentiments remain the same, i probably could have elocuted it more coherently.

And having an IGA or other supermarket on campus is the stupidest idea I have ever heard. So what, you are going to do your grocery shopping at uni, carry it around all day, then take it home on the bus? Or just walk it to your car (for the few people who drive to uni? I'm not sure about you, but I don't think many people would bother lugging around their washing powder and toilet paper.

the only thing it would actually sell would be food that can be consumed on the spot i.e. like all the union food outlets at the moment.
