did anyone do math2121 differential equations today? or I can post the questions here? Im really keen to double check my answers, making me anxious haha

i did it last year, not sure how much i can remember but I can have a look if u want

If the math marks really are being released in just 10 days from now, how quickly do they mark those papers?

alright thanks renegade, i'm gonna type it up a few (unfortunately dont know latex lols)

first one:

3(x^2)y''+2xy'+(x^2)y = 0, Co = 1

a)Determine indicial equation
b)give a recurrence relation for the co efficients of Cn
c) for the large of the two roots of the indicial equation, find the first three non zero terms of the series (that sum y= CnX^n+r)

second:
Solve for x(t) and y(t)

dx/dt= -2x-4y, x(0) = 5

dy/dt = 3x+5y, y(0) = -3

third:

Find general solution to cauchy-euler ode

2(x^2)y''+7xy'-3y = 13(x^1/4) [13x to the power of a quarter]

fourth:

find fourier series for function

f(x) = |x| -1, defined on interval [-pi,pi]

^This appears to be a mindless application of some algorithms. You can just do it yourself in aid of your notes and check.

nah fam 1927 exams don't even seem that hard apart from like 1 prac question every exam.

Only thing ill get skrekt by is any prac question involving graphs. If that shit comes up as a prac question ill just leave it out and do the other 2.

you able to do 2/3 of prac from the 3 papers on webcms? the only ones i can cleanly do are tree recursion ones

How are you finding actuarial? (both enjoyment and difficulty wise)

I can't tell if this is just a "grass is greener on the other side" thing though. But I've always been interested in programming & modelling and was thinking of taking up econometrics. The data science thing at UNSW seems to have a really interesting mix of areas

My accounting tutor said that the finance and accounting fields are dying (moreso the former), and while I have a bit of work experience I'm still like... lel

I'm interested in the economics and comp but I have no idea how I'd go with the math haha, I only did 3 unit and I didn't put much effort into it

Finance has been shrinking since the GFC... Working in finance is nowhere as good (luxurious? I don't know how to describe it..) as it was in the past I feel

You know you can do Economics/Science, and then take up a stats major + econometrics, and then add all the COMP courses as electives and you pretty much get the same thing but with two majors (maybe a 3rd one if you wanna do maths as a major).

The Data science degree is a way for UNSW to lure students into the uni so they can make $$$$.

only do it if you don't care about wasting your time at uni, very pointless imo. I would pick comm1000, no quizzes no final and you actually do learn about making a difference in your community. Marks come from tutorial work, 2 simple journal reflections and 1 group project about a social issue. It's also incredibly easy and no pressure.

From what I hear MGMT1101 >>> MGMT1001 though
