I don't know if I should post a new thread for this, but are there any year 11s/12s who are doing both Society&Culture and CAFS?
Which one do you think is more interesting in terms of topics and assessments (that should be a paradox, interesting assessment, but there are some that are really good to do)?

Thanks!

problem is that lots of people generalise asians doing extension 1 and 2 maths that so much of this habit is imposing on my subjects. ALSO PARENTS are part of the generalising COMMITTEE, >_<

2 - Chinese
2 - Japanese
2 - Physics
2- Chemistry
3 - Extension 1
2 - Advanced English

13 units all up. However I WANTED to pick georgraphy but you know how asians parents are like, you cannot benefit from geography only maths and english.

Hey everybody.

Pretty sure I'm doing:
- Economics (2 unit)
- Legal Studies (2 Unit)
- Advanced English (2 Unit)
- English Extension (1 Unit)
- Mathematics (2 Unit)
- Japanese (2 Unit)
TOTAL 11 Units

Unsure if I want to do physics.
Would it be too much?
Anyways. Want to focus on English and Law.

Subject selection for me is on 23rd of June.
Good luck with your choices, everyone.

Also, you need a minimum of 12 units for the preliminary year! Make sure you fill up the last spot with another 1 unit subject or another 2unit subject. If you are looking for just a 1unit subject, I suggest either Mathematics Extension 1 or Studies of Religion I (it's super easy)

I chose jap as an elective for Yr 9 and 10.
Hopefully soon, I may be able to watch anime and jdramas without reading the subtitles!

Buhahaha!
Thats one of the many reasons why im choosing Japanese. It still counts as homework :D

i dont do society&culture, my school doesnt offer it but i can tell you about cafs since i do it.
cafs is easy but it involves alot of writing.
basically, its common sense.
in year 12 you do 4 cores: research methodology (which goes together with your IRP, which is a very interesting project provided you do a topic that interests you. its of your choice), parenting & caring, groups in context & then an option topic.
the whole course really revolves around wellbeing, self esteem, access to resources etc...
if you're into the whole sociology type thing cafs is for you!
